I believe that cheating is wrong. But since this is not accepted by the entire populace, I must defend the good name of righteousness :wink: (I wink because well, I am being half sarcastic about the whole defending "righteousness" by arguing against cheating... but yeah.)

This whole scenario is completely invalid, but is really funny. Not only do I not see why a man would want to hit you with furniture; I don't see how this is cheating on his part, nor do I see the reaction you desire as cheating either.

If a country is going to kill some people... let's stop it... If they want war, let's engage in the rules of war and take them out. Sounds Fun. You explained the whole deal with an F-114 not being seen on the phone... for those that weren't there: It is a fighter jet that can target and eliminate prey from several miles off or something... you can get killed without hearing or seeing the thing killing you... even if you have a decent radar device. If I remember right, that is. Little rifles? That is unrealistic to think that their military would be engaging in acts of war on our soil with "little rifles." If you wouldn't call vision goggles and F-114's cheating, then why did you mention them? I don't think they are cheating even!

This is random and ... invalid. And didn't you say that nothing was fair anyway? This goes against your idiom. If "all is fair" then how are you arguing *for* cheating on some levels?
"For go fish I would have to say it depends on what the group playing wants. Some friends and I had fun cheating at lire (a card game) in church van on the way back from a youth rally. And it turns out I am not the best cheater as I and those who collaborated with me lost soundly. Cheating was definitely a good thing here."
Maybe what you have found is that the other players are not going to cheat... but then do because someone else is blatantly cheating and that they need to cheat as well in order to have any hope of winning. But at the core, they don't want to cheat... what happens is that the cheater FORCES the others to cheat. If you don't cheat, they won't. So don't cheat. It isn't what the group wants, especially when I am there. Liar is a game which is hidged on the idea that you need to be cunning and a good liar. Cheating at that games means to break that - such as being blatantly obvious about cheating. "I need a five, I'll trade you a 7...okay?" That IS cheating. Lying is how you win, not cheating. If you played the game without cheaters you'd know how to play it, and it is a lot of fun too!

Cheating is universally seen as wrong. Name a country that says "Cheating is for the fun of the group or really, JUST PLAIN GOOD! Everyone should do it!" Can you think of one? Didn't think so. Cheating is not even good in games. I care about rules, and logic. So sue me. I have FUN when I know it is skill in the GAME, not skill in making the games something it is not. The rules of the game are what makes the game (like solitare) different from another (poker). If you only care if you are having fun and are winning, it is not playing the game, it is going off on your own tangent wasting time and making at least one other person not happy, specifically because he is playing a game somehow by himself. And everyone is in the same place, playing something else. (saying that _only one_ person was NOT cheating)

So, in relation to other cheating... it isn't the grades, it is the student that is important. While true, I would not die for grades, I would die for another student (under some circumstances); getting higher grades through cheating is still wrong. Yes, the student "should" have high grades and have a good chance at making the big ones and holding to the American Dream... but... not to the point of cheating. With this idea, we should all be socialistic commies, giving money away not because we work for it, but because we should have everything -- no work, all play. To bother trying to keep up this system is worthless. Cheating is similar: it is lying, ruining the system, bypassing righteousness. It is not right.
