THAT GUYS WHO HAVE APPEARED ON 'HOMICIDE
'
The webmistress at THAT GUY has a special place in her heart for the tragically cancelled
Homicide, and decided to elaborate on the participation of the many THAT GUYS that took part in this wonderful show...
1.) Lee Tergesen as "Officer Chris Thormann" (1993-1997): Tergesen had a recurring role as a greenhorns street cop whose career is cut short after he is shot and blinded.  TRIVIA: Chris Thormann's wife, Eva, was played by Edie 'Carmella Soprano' Falco.
2.) Joe Morton as "Sam Thorne" (appeared in two episodes, 1994): Morton appeared as a journalist friend of Captain Al Giardello (Yaphet Kotto).  Shot and killed by an unknown assailant.
3.)
Steve Buscemi as "Gordon Pratt" (episode 'End Game', 1995): a suspect in an ambush that left three police detectives fighting for their lives, white supremacist Gordon Pratt is later found shot to death outside his home.
4.) David Morse as "Jim Bayliss" (episode "Colors", 1995): Detective Tim Bayliss's brother Jim is arrested for shooting a foreign exchange student he mistook for an intruder.  Jim is later exonerated of the crime, but his attitude and certain statements leave Detective Tim wondering if the shooting really was just a tragic accident...
5.)
Bruce Campbell as "Jake Rodzinski" (appeared in two episodes, 1995): Jake Rodzinski, son of a murdered cop, asks old friend and academy partner Meldrick Lewis to help him investigate his father's death.  When the most likely suspect is given a surprise acquittal from a jury, Rodzinski makes the mistake of taking justice in his own hands.
6.) Jeffrey Wright as "Hal Wilson" (appeared in three episodes, 1997): when a housekeeper is found murdered, suspicion falls on her wealthy employer, Felix Wilson (James Earl Jones).  Wilson eventually admits to an affair with the dead woman, but ultimately it is his troubled son, Hal, who admits to her murder.  When it's discovered that Hal's confession is inadmissible in court, both Wilsons flee the area to avoid prosecution.
7.)
Vincent D'Onofrio as "John Lange" (episode 'The Subway', 1997): in what many Homicide fans agree was the most powerfully written and acted episode of the entire series, Vincent D'Onofrio plays businessman John Lange, who either falls or is pushed from a subway platform and is pinned between the train and the platform.  While Detectives Lewis and Kellerman try to track down Lange's girlfriend, and Bayliss interviews a man who may be guilty of pushing Lange, the victim discusses life, the universe, and everything with Detective Frank Pembleton.  Tragically, Lange dies before any resolution is made on the accident.  TRIVIA: Vincent D'Onofrio was nominated for an Emmy Award for his performance.
8.)
Kevin Corrigan as "Carl Curtis" (episode 'Fallen Heroes', 1998): sorry, folks, I remember the episode but not who Kevin Corrigan played in it.  If anyone can refresh my memory, I'd greatly appreciate it...
9.) Christopher Meloni as "Dennis Knoll" (appeared in two episodes, 1998): overzealous bounty hunter Dennis Knoll and his partners make the worst mistake a bounty hunter can possibly make...
10.)
Giancarlo Esposito as "Detective Mike Giardello" (1998-1999): Al Giardello's estranged son comes from California to work under his father's command.
11.) Ron Eldard as "Emmett Carey" (episode 'Line of Fire', 1999): bitterly depressed Emmett Carey takes his children hostage and shoots at police from his apartment.  In one shocking outburst of violence, he shoots his estranged wife dead on the street.  After coercement from Detective Giardello, Carey agrees to let his daughter go, but tragically brings events to an ugly end by shooting his son and then himself
.

THAT GUYS WHO HAVE APPEARED ON 'THE X FILES'
1.) Jack Black as "Bart 'Zero' Liquori" (episode 'D.P.O.', 1995): arcade worker Zero witnesses a mysterious lightning-related death, but offers little help to Agents Mulder and Scully in order to protect a friend.  He's later zapped by lighting and killed for his trouble.
2.)
Bruce Campbell as "Wayne Weinsider" (episode 'Terms of Endearment', 1999): When expectant mother Laura Weinsider wakes up one morning with her unborn child literally removed from her body, Scully and Mulder are called in.  Suspicion falls on Laura's husband Wayne, especially when it's discovered that he has another wife across town, and she is about to give birth as well.  After his other wife Betsy accuses him of stealing her unborn child, and Wayne is caught burying an infant's body in the backyard, he is shot dead by the town sheriff.  Following his death, it's learned that Wayne was actually a demon, murdering his unborn children because they showed signs of being demons themselves.  A neat twist at the end shows that Wayne's second wife, Betsy, was an even more malevolent demon than he, having previously killed their other children because they weren't demons.
3.)
Doug Hutchison as "Eugene Victor Tooms" (episodes 'Squeeze', 1993, and 'Tooms', 1994): Mulder and Scully investigate a series of murders in which all of the victims have had their livers removed.  Suspicion falls on Eugene Tooms, whose fingerprints curiously match those of a suspect in a murder that took place back in 1933.  Mulder theorizes that Tooms is actually a mutant who spends most of his time in hibernation, emerging only to eat human livers for survival.  Tooms is captured during an attempt on Scully's life, but is released from custody in the second episode, and gets to show off his unique talent--he brings new meaning to the phrase "double-jointed", stretching and bending himself to fit into unimaginably small spaces.  Tooms almost manages to make it to hibernation before Mulder and Scully catch up with him, but he ends up crushed in the gears of an escalator.
4.)
Donal Logue as "Special Agent Tom Colton" (episode 'Squeeze', 1993): an old academy classmate of Scully's, Tom Colton requests her assistance in the investigation of a series of gruesome murders, but doesn't appreciate Mulder's unorthodox involvement in the case.
5.) Joe Morton as "Martin Wells" (episode 'Redrum', 2000): attorney Martin Wells awakens in a prison cell accused of the murder of his wife, though he has no recollection of the crime or of even being arrested for it.  He soon learns that time is moving
backwards for him, and realizes that the real killer is the brother of a man whom Wells helped to wrongly convict of murder.  The only way he can save his wife's life is by admitting his wrongdoing, thus altering the pattern of time and leading police to her soon-to-be killer before he commits the crime.
6.) Robert Patrick as "Special Agent John Doggett" (regular since beginning of 2000 season): obstensibly brought on as a replacement for Fox Mulder (though he never really seemed to leave), Agent Doggett proved to be an even more pragmatic and no-nonsense investigator than Scully, thus reversing the established roles--or at least, until he's killed and brought back to life by a mutated creature that "eats his pain" in the episode 'The Gift'.
7.) Giovanni Ribisi as "Darin Peter Oswald" (episode 'D.P.O', 1995): Mulder and Scully investigate an unusual spate of lightning-related deaths in a small Oklahoma town.  Suspicion falls on a young man named Darin Oswald, who Scully realizes has a bizarre chemical imbalance that allows him to generate an enormous amount of electricity.  At first it seems as if Darin cannot control the electrical bursts, but we later learn that isn't the case, when we see him orchestrate a series of electricity-related events that allow him to both kill and "heroically" rescue the husband of the schoolteacher he is desperately in love with.  A particularly gruesome bolt of lightning Darin generates kills the town sheriff and knocks Darin unconscious, and he is later arrested and placed in a psychiatric hospital.
8.) Tony Shalhoub as "Dr. Chester Banton" (episode 'Soft Light', 1995): while investigating a number of disappearances in the Virginia area, Mulder and Scully make the acquaintance of Chester Banton, a scientist who, after being trapped in a particle accelerator room and exposed to a massive amount of energy, has a shadow that acts of its own free will.  Banton escapes custody from a psychiatric hospital when he learns that he is being hunted down by the government, but is later transported to an underground facility for testing.
