Let us start with the famous annoying question that has been playing in the minds of almost of Ami’s fans ... 'Does Ami ever have a true relationship with anyone?' In my point of view I do think she has one or two, even if they are not mentioned. First love was in the past with Zoisite and the second was with Urawa. This is what I think, so don't go and flame me. Zoisite is one of the four generals of Prince Endymion and Zoisite is a male and not a female as in the anime. I don't know why Dic changed it.

Kunzite and Zoisite?
In the anime they showed that Kunzite (Malachite) and Zoisite are lovers; depends on you if you really believe them to be lovers or not. Yes, in the manga it showed that they have some sort of intimacy with each other which led people to assume that Zoisite and Kunzite (Malachite) are lovers or homosexual to be precise. To me, Zoisite and Kunzite (Malachite) are nothing but very close friends.

This closeness produced some sort of bond between them, a bond that is much deeper than just being friends but not going to the borders of being lovers. This kind of bond is very rare in our society and even if it does exist people would see them as homosexuals even when they are not.

Zoisite, being the youngest of the Shitennou looks up to Kunzite (Malachite) and thinks highly of him. He sees Kunzite (Malachite) as a very close friend or maybe even like a big brother whom he love dearly and admire. Plus, Zoisite as most people know is an emotional person and he cared deeply for his fellow Shitennou. These things led to the conclusion that Zoisite is homosexual especially since there are scenes in both manga and anime that showed both him and Kunzite (Malachite) to be very close to each other and the fact that he cross-dresses. To me, I still stand on my ground saying that Zoisite:-

1. Is not homosexual
2. Loves Kunzite (Malachite) because he cared deeply for him and respects him
3. He cross-dresses just like SailorMoon
4. He is Ami’s lover in the past

Another thing that I would like to add is that, Zoisite, like most men in the past are very loyal towards their friends. If they were forced to choose between their friends and lovers, most of them tend to put their friends above their lovers. The bond of friendship between men of the past is much stronger than the bond between them and their lovers. I think most of you have seen these kind of movies where men are willing to die for their friends and such.

Anyway, this is the famous story of the assault on the Moon Kingdom. Queen Beryl brainwashed (or tricked or planted false promises to lure them, up to you on which you believe) Prince Endymion's Shitennou (Zoisite, Kunzite (Malachite), Jadeite and Nephrite) and thus turning them into evil Shitennou that serves the dark forces and launched an assault on the Moon Kingdom. The other Senshi killed their own lovers during the battle to protect Princess Serenity including SailorMercury. Rumors say that she doesn't and some say that she does. It depends on you on which to believe.

Want to know what I think? I believe that she did kill Zoisite. Why you might ask. It is because she wanted to protect her Princess. Is not her sole existence and life is to protect Princess Serenity? Plus Princess Serenity is her friend and she, like Zoisite, cared deeply for her princess and would not let any harm come to her.

SailorMercury knows that if the Dark Kingdom were to win there will be an everlasting disaster not to mention that she would probably not be able to bring her loved ones back with the power of the Silver Crystal. Since the Dark Shitennou are like these sort of pillars of the Dark Kingdom and to destroy them would be like destroying the very defence of the Dark Kingdom, thus giving the White Moon Kingdom a chance of winning if the dark Dark Shitennou were to be destroyed.

She, as the Legendary Senshi, needs to carry out her duty to destroy them so that none of what she feared will come to pass. Though it would pain her to kill her one true love, the thought of people suffering drove her forward into battle. After the battle, SailorMercury and Zoisite died.

Where did I get such thoughts?
Those about SailorMercury and the fighting against Zoisite thing is my personal opinion. I know a bit or less of Ami’s character and tried to be in her situation and to think like her. So from there I was able to come up with a few things that might drive SailorMercury into battle to face her lover and the reason why she and the other Senshi killed the Shitennou.

Ami and Zoisite lovers? Impossible!
Well the thing is that there is a picture of Ami being held by Zoisite romantically and the same goes for the other Senshi in the manga. Maybe Miss Naoko wanted the Inner Senshi and the four Shitennou of Prince Endymion to be together, or maybe it was just some drawing. If she did intend to make them lovers I do not know why it did not work out for them in the future.

Anyway we all know that whenever you write a story you have these ideas laid right in front of you, but due to some inconveniences like the short time that is given to write the story, we tend to abandon those ideas or even forgot about them, so I guess the same thing happened to Miss Naoko. Before you continue I must warn you all that Miss Naoko never did mention any romantic relationships going on between the Senshi and Shitennou. The manga drawing is the only proof, but it is not sufficient. A bit or less this whole Senshi/Shitennou relationship is nothing but a myth.

The Senshi/Shitennou drawing could be drawn for fun or it could be a proof to the Senshi/Shitennou love myth. Well the small proof on this Senshi and Shitennou pairing can be found in the manga but not in the anime. Anyway since I am helpless in romantic love stories and I just love the idea of the Senshi and Shitennou pairing, I couldn't resist to believe that they are lovers.

Therefore (due to my weakness for sappy romance), I believe that Miss Naoko did intend to pair up the Shenshi and Shitennou, but due to the lack of time she left it out from the storyline. This is what I think.

If the Senshi and Shitenou were meant to be lovers, then it is not fair that Usagi and Mamoru were able to get together back again in the end but not them. *Sigh* ... well anyway yeah, the picture showed that SailorMercury once had a relationship with Zoisite even though if it is not mentioned, but there are clues lying around. This (again for the second time) I must say is something that I believe in because I am a sucker for romance, and I must again mention that Miss Naoko did not say anything about the Senshi and the Generals being lovers. In short and in reality it means that there was never a Senshi/Shitennou romance.

The only romance between them would be the picture that was drawn, and based on that picture I concluded that Miss Naoko intended to pair the couple but never got farther than the drawing. Therefore for me, the Senshi Shitennou romance exists only in the drawing, but in the BSSM storyline never existed.

Ami and Urawa?
Ami's relationship with Urawa was true too. I do think that they are still in contact with each other after he left. Urawa was one of the Nijizuishou (Rainbow Crystal) carriers and he knows the true identity of Ami as SailorMercury. If I am not mistaken, Ami or whoever gave a cute picture of her to Urawa as a memory or something.
