Chapter 9

Kathleen slept so hard she didn't her Chandra and Hannah get up and move around. Her bed was really soft and surprisingly comfortable she rolled over telling her self she'd get up in a minute. She forced her eyes open slowly, taking awhile for them to focus. Right in front of her face was two little beady eyes staring curiously at her.
"Ahh!" Kathleen shrieked jumping up and scrambling out of the bush. "There... it almost got me." Kathleen stuttered pointing to the bush. All Chandra and Hannah did was laugh.
"Did the squirrel scare you Kathleen?" Hannah asked teasingly. Out of the bush emerged a rather large squirrel, about the size of a cat.
"That's what kept you up all night." Chandra laughed
"Chic Cha?" the squirrel chittered up at Kathleen. Kathleen just looked at it.
"Isn't it cute?" Hannah asked clapping her hands together.
"Uh... Sure" Kathleen breathed. Chandra was still laughing and laughed harder when Kathleen glared at her. As they got ready the squirrel followed them around.
"Strange" Chandra said looking at the squirrel "I've seen squirrels before but never a white one. It doesn't have red eyes so it couldn't be an albino."
"Its also just a little big for a squirrel." Kathleen commented.
"I think he's cute," Hannah cooed.
"Chi KA!" the squirrel chattered angrily.
"Oh" Hannah said, " My mistake, I think he's a she."
"Cha" replied the squirrel happily.
"Amazing" Chandra, breathed "Hannah's half squirrel!" Kathleen rolled her eyes. They just began walking in a direction; they we're lost anyways. The squirrel decided to tag along taking a ride on Hannah's shoulder.
"Wait you guys," said Hannah. Kathleen and Chandra stopped and turned around.
"What Hannah." they both said sounding annoyed.
"The squirrel says we should turn to this way," she said pointing off to the right.
"Well then I'm going this way" Kathleen said pointing the other way.
"What harm will it do? We're lost anyways" Chandra implied "We might as well go this way," she pointed the way Hannah was.
"Fine!" Kathleen barked pushing Chandra out of the way she stormed of in the direction Hannah had pointed.
"Chica?" the squirrel asked
"Nah she's under a lot of stress" Hannah answered.
