Chapter 10
The group of four walked the way that the squirrel, or Hannah had indicated to go.
Amazingly enough they came across a small farm. Food thought Kathleen.
"Kathleen" sang Hannah "Don't you need to apologize to someone?"
"Oh yeah I do." Kathleen smirked "Sorry Chandra it's not your fault we're lost."
"Kathleen say you're sorry," whined Hannah.
"Sorry" Kathleen said under her breath.
"Mica Ca" The squirrel squeaked
"She forgives you." Hannah informed Kathleen. Kathleen closed her fists and smiled through clenched teeth. All the while Chandra was watching in amusement.
"Come on you two I'm starving."
As they entered the farm a brown dog greeted them. Frightened the squirrel jumped off of Hannah's shoulder and ran away with the dog barking and running after it.
"Oh squirrel com back!" yelled Hannah after the frightened squirrel.
"Come on Hannah" begged Kathleen "Lets go see if we can get something to eat.
"Yeah we'll look for your squirrel later." Chandra encouraged.
The farmer and his wife answered the door. The air was filled with "Thanks" and "Welcome" as the group was led inside for breakfast.
"Where might you travelers be from, we never usually get visitors." While Hannah and Chandra were absorbed in their plates Kathleen answered with a mouth full of food.
"Were lost and we were wondering if you let us use your phone."
"Sorry" the farmer went on sounding confused " We don't have a phone. Are you sure your from around here."
"Actually" she said swallowing " I don't think we are."
"Well if you want to, you can stay here till in the morning then I'll take you in to town." the farmer licked his lips, which made Kathleen uncomfortable
"Eat. There's enough for everyone" his wife smiled. A small familiar face peered in through the window.
"Squirrel!" Hannah yelped she raced out side. When she came back in the squirrel was perched on her shoulder. Chandra nudged Kathleen and pointed to the woman and the farmer who were shifting uneasily in their seats. They both were glaring at the squirrel.
