Chapter 7
Kathleen landed roughly into unfamiliar clearing. She felt like she had been stretched out like a rubber band and then snapped back into place. Looking around she could immediately tell that this was a completely different forest; instead of thick pines it had tall birches and strange looking bushes. Chandra was standing next to her and Hannah was in shock sitting on the ground
"Kathleen" Hannah's voice quivered "Where are we?"
Once again Kathleen looked around studying her surroundings.
"I don't really know" Her voice shook. She turned to Chandra; Chandra looked a little dazed.
"This is your fault you know" Kathleen hissed at Chandra.
"My fault?" Chandra hissed back "Would you rather have a bullet lodged into your brain!?"
"It's no one's fault" Hannah said calmly slowly recovering from shock. " I'm sure there's a logical explanation for all of this. I mean maybe I'm dreaming for all I know." Kathleen glared at Chandra. They stared at each other for sometime. While they did that Hannah tried going back through the tree arch but nothing happened. She sighed and walked back over to the fighting pair.
"Ok." Kathleen finally said breaking eye contacted with Chandra "This can't be happing. Maybe we're all dead and we're in heaven." her voice dripping with sarcasm. Hannah noticed a tall stump sticking out of the ground; like a chair. She ran over to it and climbed on top. Launching herself off the stump Hannah hit the ground with a thud.
"Nah" Hannah said gathering herself up " I can't fly, but I still think I'm dreaming."
"If your dreaming then I'm dreaming." said Chandra sitting down with a sigh. Hannah sat down next to Chandra and Kathleen joined them.
"Well" began Hannah " I have just one question for you."
"Which is" Chandra said quickly.
"You said that my parents could take care of themselves I just was wondering what you meant by that." Chandra hesitated then began to explain.
"Your mom had told me to come over early for horse lessons something about the horses were nicer in the morning. When I got there your parents told me to take you and hide you both. It was such a rush and was happening so fast. They had guns and said that they would miss us. They wouldn't let me ask any questions so I dragged you guys out of bed. Not knowing of anywhere else to hide I headed out to the forest. Now here we are and we have no idea, where we are." Chandra finished and studied Kathleen and Hannah's face waiting for one of them to say something. Hannah and Kathleen said nothing.
