Chapter 22
Wow good for you
You found clue two
I hope you don't think that this is all fun and game
When this next clue is done you wont be the same
Things aren't what they seem
Nice things can be mean
Fur and feather
Join the last stone together
"Oh joy!" said Chandra sarcastically "More gray stone stuff. Though I must admit that the poem is pretty good." Kathleen stuffed the clue into her pocket joining the other.
"Well should we look at your map again?" asked Kathleen somewhat eager to get started. Chandra nodded, and pulled out the (blank to Kathleen) parchment.
"Well?" said Kathleen after awhile "do you see anything."
"There's faded words I can't make out yet and I think I see a path." She turned to show Kathleen but remembered it was only visible to her and put it back in its pocket. "We need to go this way and find the path," Chandra pointed to a thick lush part of the forest.
"Lets go then." Kathleen exclaimed, pulling Chandra off in the direction she had indicated. Walking towards their destination they spotted a path that was well suited to travel by foot. After they had walked for a good period of time Chandra's stomach growled, which caused her to blush a bit.
"Hungry?" mocked Kathleen, "To bad you didn't save your breakfast like me." Chandra rolled her eyes and laughed, continuing on the path turning of into the forest. Kathleen watched with interested, and saw Chandra return with bulging pockets and an apple in her hand, munching away on it, smiling. Why did she have to get the map, thought Kathleen as she stifled a nasty remark and followed Chandra down the path. Though later on their trek Chandra handed Kathleen some apples, still smiling. Like most people, walking for along time is pretty boring, and it wasn't long till Chandra and Kathleen got to talking.
"Yeah I never did know my mom, I don't even remember her… my dad's all I have even though he does act strange sometimes."
"I think we all have strange parents, I mean what would it be like if they weren't," comforted Chandra, "it probably be so boring!"
Kathleen nodded her head and laughed.
"So do you like horses?" asked Kathleen remembering the ridding lessons.
"Sure I love all animals," said Chandra brushing of a fallen leaf and watching a shadow dance across the ground. " I'm not much of a dog person though, I probably like cats the most."
"Personally I love horses and cats." Agreed Kathleen. "Which I own."
"You know what I love most," said Chandra grinning. "Mongooses!" she exclaimed throwing up her hands and laughing.
"Mongooses?" questioned Kathleen raising an eyebrow, "Why in the world do you like mongooses?"
Chandra scratched her head, "You know I truthfully have no idea. I think that's the best way to explain it," exclaimed Chandra smiling her biggest.
"You look like a mongoose when you smile." Said Kathleen giggling.
"You've seen a mongoose smile?" asked Chandra with an eager look on her face, that made Kathleen laugh harder, Chandra looked hurt. Maybe she wasn't kidding, thought Kathleen. Though she didn't have much to worry about for Chandra burst out laughing right along with her. They both kept on making funny faces and laughing, but their fun and games were postponed when they crossed paths with a squirrel.
