It has been a great comfort to me and I am sure others to have "our" therapist the last couple of weeks come to ChronniesChat and discuss relationships. We have gotten several excellent suggestions and books to read if we choose to.  I am very grateful to Marilee for spending her time with us and helping us with relationships with Crohn’s and without.  Her words can apply to any relationship.  I urge you to read the latest chat log on ChronniesChat Message Board too if you have questions. - Debbie

From Diane USA

I just watched the two-hour tribute to heroes. I feel as though my very soul has been bruised by the sheer magnitude and implications and heartache for all of the families and friends ripped apart by the events of Sept. 11, 2001. While I am as heavy-hearted, afraid, angry, and confused as any American, and our friends across the world, I was struck by something.

As Robin Williams spoke, he told the story of a British-born citizen who gave his life helping others that day. The man had been a soldier, a policeman, and (forgive me) some other extraordinary things. He said that it has been said that courage is not the freedom from fear, but facing that fear, living through it, and doing what must be done. He went on to say that once you have done a courageous act, you find the strength to do it again and again and again, as this man had done.

Taking nothing away from all of the victims of this appalling blasphemy, I felt that Robin could have been referring to you all, my Crohnnies. We live our lives, not unafraid, but we go on, day after day after day picking one another up, supporting one another, and, yes, loving one another; yet most of us have never met. We all are heros, every single one of us.

The next time your disease attacks you or you are afraid and you make it through one more day, please remember that.

Hugs to everyone.

Proudly,

Diane/USA

DEZ !!!

We are very lucky to have in our midst one of the most knowledgeable people on the net.  He is a kind man who takes the time to answer your questions and if he cannot he directs you to where or whom you can get the answers from.  He has been a supporter of ChronniesChat since it's inception and a great friend to all of us.  He has made time for one on one conversations along with some mean drinks ;)  It is our pleasure to announce Dez as our chatter of the month.  Dez is bipartisan; you can see him post on the Message Board that needs the answer.  It was a lucky day for all of us when Dez came into our lives.  You can meet Dez at our ever-growing Photo gallery.

Thought for the Day:

Don't frown. You never know who is falling in love with your smile.

Special THANKS to Kathy (vogkat) for the "huggy smile", Tom (TakTom) for the "toothy smile" and Sayte (Bump) for the "smiley's backside".
