Chronnies Chatter

1 December 2001

Happy December Birthday To:

10 - Barb a.k.a. Bornzy

11 - Kathy a.k.a. vogkat

13 - Cayla a.k.a. Tempest

14 - Debbie a.k.a. Cooners

15 - Tammy a.k.a. TammyFaye1

16 - Carrie a.k.a. MoodyBlonde

Because we respect the privacy of our friends we do not give out e-mail addresses unless specifically asked to do so. Please stop by our message board to post your birthday wishes! And a note to you birthday people! Don't forget to check the message board to get all your well-wishes soon - birthday posts are removed after one month in order to conserve space!

It was my fault the CCNL is late again.  As some of you know, I moved and had to wait for everything to be hooked up on the new Apartment.  But apparently I am not the only one who moved out of the Chronnies :)  Robin and MoodyBlonde have moved also.  This is a tough time of year to be having a flare (I am having one with the stress of getting the phone hooked up, lights on etc.)  I know what I have to do to take care of myself.  I am hoping that you will respond on the board to the newbies who are not as knowledgeable as us "oldsters".  They have it rougher than us because they don't have the wonderful support and information and fellowship that we do.  So I don't know if this holiday is all around the world, but please do what you can to help someone who is knowledgeable than you by holding out a hand.  Thanks and I promise to catch up on my email as soon as I unpack. - Debbie

Article from Razzle:

I've just finished updating my Fibromyalgia page on my website. Check

it out at http://www.xenasoft.com/gazebo/fms.htm

What is Fibromyalgia Syndrome?

Fibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is characterized by widespread pain that has been going on for 3 or more months in at least 3 of the 4 quadrants of the body (above vs below the waist, left vs right sides), at least 11 of 18 tender points painful when a specific amount of pressure is applied, and at least one of the following symptoms:

There is no known cause of Fibromyalgia, but many theories exist as to what sets off the symptoms and why people with Fibromyalgia have the symptoms they do.

It is known that stress can definitely make Fibromyalgia symptoms worse but is not known to specifically induce Fibromyalgia. Others believe Fibromyalgia can be secondary to other chronic illnesses, especially auto-immune diseases (such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Lupus, etc.).

If you suspect you may have Fibromyalgia, you should consult a qualified health care professional for referral to a Physiatrist or Rheumatologist who is familiar with Fibromyalgia diagnosis and treatment. Do not self-diagnose, as you may mistake a more serious condition for Fibromyalgia, or may make changes in diet or medication that could be potentially dangerous without the guidance of a qualified health care professional who is familiar with your health history.

Please read the rest of Razzle’s great article on Fibromyalgia at:

There is a great amount of information here as well as many links to other Fibromyalgia sites.

This has a lot of games and rules for games too, from A to X, (no Y and Z games). A lot I've never heard about before too.  So for fun for your kids, grandkids or even yourself take a look and see and keep the kids busy for hours, I hope.

ALL ABOUT RELATIVES WHO HAVEN'T A CLUE ABOUT YOUR DISEASE

(and even if they did, they still wouldn't get it.)

...You know, the ones that are psychologically crushed for life if you don't eat a slab of their homemade pumpkin pie (which for years has been privately known to you as POO-POO-PIE  ...)  ...The ones that actually comment on what you DO EAT and on what you DON't EAT...     ....and one of my very favorites, "THERE'S NEVER BEEN ANY BOWEL PROBLEMS ON OUR SIDE OF THE FAMILY!"  (...and you think, "other than being anal retentive, of course...")  Not to mention the significant-others' office party where YOU HAVE TO BUY SOMETHING TO WEAR to make a good impression, (while they murmur, "You know, he/she has to pretty much pull all the weight when she/he is sick... blah, blah, blah...").

And last but not least, it's that ONE SINGLE CRACKER with the seemingly plain, innocent cheese cube along side it, from the buffet table....   I  remember it so well, it was 1998, I think. Oh, how it managed to have that one secret ingredient in it (that the hostess never spoke of), the magic taste that fed the REFLUX into the NEW YEAR and beyond.  Like the Eveready Bunnie, it kept going and going and going....

Yes, once again it's Holiday Chat Time!

Chronnies Chatter Of The Month

Razzle

It is with great pleasure that we announce Razzle as our chatter of the month.  She had been an excellent addition to ChronniesChat, having information that is not easily found to us.  She has done extensive research in her field of expertise and has been kind enough even to share her knowledge of the simple things like how to work with the computer.  Whenever she comes to a chat she is bombarded with questions about different kinds of food, meds, etc. She is a wonderful person and an excellent writer.  It is a privilege to know her.

From our chat on depression with Marilee:

Remember, too, that Depression is often worsened by unexpressed ANGER--we are always trying to be "good sports," "good patients," etc., and there can seem to be little room for expressing our frustration, anger, bitterness, why me, etc. although they are very normal parts of this too. - Marilee

Thought For The Day:

When you get to the end of all the light you know and it's time to step into
the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen:
either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.

~ Edward Teller ~
