I stand corrected! All these years I thought it was "sushi" I was eating. I was only half right along with probably half the population. I also quite enjoy "sashimi". Check out Kuro5hin's recipe for making your own sushi.. (Yes, I happened to be one of those who managed to get and hold onto an account before the great lockdown occurred while the site owner rethinks the commentary process..)

40 year lost wallet returned; even more odd is how much she was paying for a furnished apartment ~ approximately $12.00 :wow:

Pay it forward.. I happened to be able to help a young gentleman set himself up a new email account and transfer over some data with a little bit of CTRL~A, CTRL~C, CTRL~V action this evening. Even threw in some ALT~TAB to boot because his machine was freezing up and closing time was sneaking up on us fast. Hopefully he was able to get his information out. Sounded like it when he left. When he asked for my name so he could say, "[This person] helped me get this to you today", I told him that nothing would make me happier than to know he had just (SEEK OUT AMAZON MOVIE FOR HERE) "paid it forward" instead..

Can legalized porn be far behind if this online casino gambling case were ever to make it all the through the WTO World Trade Organization to the benefit of Antigua?? The concepts of access to online gambling and Internet porn are obviously very much the same..

Eight days to go, and you're still not sure what to get the love of your life for Valentine's Day? Binghampton, New York's Ross Park Zoo says, "Adopt a hissing cockroach"..

Sorry, but I found this to be just TOO funny.. Just saw the new Pepsi iTunes commercial featuring some of the kids that RIAA went after for downloading music. Wonder whose bright idea that one was?!

Something to think about.. Soldiers returning home with no one to greet them..

An excellent AJC editorial on taxing versus budget cuts. While this is speaking out regarding Georgia's situation, the sentiment behind it can be applied to any little town across the United States.

Cute story about a pastor dying his hair as fulfillment of a promise made to kids if more than 400 parishioners showed up for Sunday school.

Who SAYS that Friday the 13th brings bad luck??! Not me! Just found my driver's license that has been missing for over two weeks. The clencher? I only had a day and a half left before it would cost me penalty fees at the DMV when I tried to renew.. Woohoo!!

This is something methinks they who set the city of Jasper, Georgia, should be reading. Eight years ago, a traffic jam was a car on each corner at THE traffic light in town. Now it seems like the backups go on for about a half mile or so. The price one pays for a new 4~lane running alongside a sleepy town.

PlanetArk.com has an interesting article about Hua Mei, a Panda born in captivity in the United States, and her return to Wolong's White Dragon Valley in China.
Planet Ark is also carrying this story about how ballast water carried by ships crossing international waters is environmentally unsafe because it allows for the incidental transfer of "alien" marine invaders.

Not for the weak of heart: Black hole rips apart a star as it sucks it in.. Oy, vey!

Just reading my White House News email and found a little blurb about the First Family's pet dog, Spot Spotty Fetcher passing away this week. Being the nosey Web Surfer Girl that I am, I followed the link to Spotty's bio stored over at the White House Kids.
A quick review of Spotty's highlights led me to realize that Spotty had been born in the White House to one of George, Sr's dogs, Millie. What an odd and interesting turn of events to have Spot begin his life in the White House then return fifteen years later to pass away in the same internationally noteworthy surroundings.
