Hi! Welcome to the February, 2003, archived entries for A Butterfly Blogs... Weblogs like this one have been popping up all over the Internet for quite some time now. They are becoming an increasingly popular way to articulate oneself using all means of creativity and self~expression available to the imagination.

I was just changing the desktop image to one of the "Columbia" out of respect for what has just happened and to remind me that we all need to follow our dreams because you just never, ever know what will happen to you each day. Through my tears as I was changing the image, I couldn't help but giggle after I came across an image labeled "1958MGAOuch!". The first thing that crossed my mind is, "A really nice~looking 1958 Male from Georgia? What in the world??" Nope, lol! It was a HOT~looking baby blue 1958 MGA Roadster. Double~OUCH! We all gotta dream.. Check out the description that goes with the first pic of this really red Roadster. It says "the car with my two daughters" and not the other way around. lol!

Here's something that shows you how fast web design can work. I just received an email from NewFunPages and dedicated to the "Columbia" astronauts. The title bar (up top where mine should say "Butterfly Bytes ~*~ Web Design..") said "A Dedication to the Firemen" but was dedicated to the fallen astronauts. I started to drop them a quick note then refreshed one last time just in case. Yup, they had caught and corrected their own whoops in that short couple of minutes. My point? Don't ever let your webmaster try to convince you that it will probably be a few days before they can get around to changing your webpages when you need it!

So whatever did happen to the blood tests on those cloned babies? Bunch of maroons.. Wonder how much they made off of pulling that stunt..

I don't know if it's something in the air or subconsciously my mind knows the big 4~5 is right around the corner, but babies have been on my mind today. I dug out one of my baby pictures last night and in resizing it today, I realized that this would have been close to how my child would have looked if I had so been blessed.

Someone over at AskEarth.com had a question about an F Reg Vauxhall Nova Merit. I had never heard of this creature so here is a pic for anyone else who is curious. Look quick! I don't think this link will be there long.

My online fortune cookie for today said, "You have an important new business development shaping up." Ok, who peeked into my emailbox and told them I got confirmation from the State that I have now reserved "Butterfly Bytes LLC"?! Thinking about setting up your own business in Georgia? Before you do ANYTHING else, reserve your favorite business name through the Georgia Secretary of State.

I have ALWAYS got the tube running on something if I'm here no matter what I'm doing. City of Angels (Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan) was tonight's fare. Great song somewhere around the middle of it, Angel by Sarah McLachlen

Was it my imagination or did anyone else notice the extra emphasis George, Jr., placed on the first syllable of the word "dictator" when he was talking about Saddam today?

My Citizen Corps E~News today talked about the Nation's security level going up one notch to orange today. Here is their Are You Ready preparedness webpage for individuals and families.

Heard Tracy Byrd's Keeper of the Stars tonight while I was headed home from Downtown Jasper. Wouldn't it be nice to get just a peek at the playbook that is each of our lives? Just a really quick peek?

Hmm.. Well, today is off and running with a bang already. Turned the tube on just in time to catch one of my alltime favorite boobtube scenes from the "Designing Women" episode called The First Day of the Last Decade of the Entire Twentieth Century . It is one of their New Year's episodes with Dolly Parton as the guardian movie star. They finish out the two~parter with one of the most beautiful songs I think I've ever heard, Somewhere Out There. A great Valentine's Day song for anyone who has not quite found their one and only yet.

Online scams.. In recent weeks I have seen a LOT of message board posts that don't look quite right on first review. In fact several turned out to be direct links to viruses deliberately posted to ruin someone's day by infecting unsuspecting surfers. There are a couple of ways to quickly check a link one finds on the Internet. Make sure your Status Bar is on ("View" then put a checkmark next to "Status Bar") to activate the Status Bar on your screen. Now run your cursor over the link. If it ends in .exe or has a double ending like .exe.jpg or similar, RUN! This type of "link" will activate as soon as you enter the site. The other thing I've done on many an occasion is to google the main domain name of a questionable link. You can tell what kind of site you are dealing with by the description given in the search results. Publicly posted links I have come across in the past have turned to out to be porn sites which would have downloaded adware/spyware/malware for sure had I visited the posted website without checking it out first. As a favor to your fellow surfers, make sure you report suspected virus~related links to both your message board admin and the webpage or domain host (Geocities, Angelfire, etc) where possible.

What makes the Internet so much fun is that you just never know where your next search will take you. My journey tonight landed me at the music posters created by Michael R. Everett. Totally psychodelic! And if you follow this person through the Net a little, you'll discover that he occasionally donates his artwork to particular causes for fundraising. Definitely my hero of the day. I love when people give a little of their special talents to help others in need..

I've mentioned before about how I've tried to do my part to help with a wide range of computer and personal questions that people have posted on various online message boards. Today, in answering someone's question, I found this LifetimeTV webpage with tips for victims of rape and assault. Included are several links and phone numbers that should help both the victim and the victim's friends and family who need to know how to help the victim live through and beyond the violence associated with rape or assault.

Found a new toy today. Another something that has had a good~sized following but that is becoming more and more popular on the Net. For the most part, they are called "dollz" and they come in all shapes, sizes, and forms. Copyrights are a little hard to determine on this kind of Internet artwork. The creators each hold copyrights for what they have done even though they have borrowed from each other. You own the dolls you create but it gets iffy here. You need to make sure that you read the "TOU" (Terms of Use) statements that come with each site to determine what you can and cannot do with the dollz you create. Here are just a couple of mine that I made over at Cartoon Dollz and animated using the free UnFREEz animator:

Got this in my emailbox a little while ago. It's a link to information on CNET.com's Lovgate.c worm/trojan horse alert. If you haven't already done so, you might want to stop and update your anti~program right now to reflect this newest threat..
