Everyone seems to dream at one point or another and for any known (and possibly unknown) reason under the sun. Mine on occasion apparently reflect what I subconsciously hear from the TV as I sleep. I recently dreamed a whole scene of meeting Queen Elizabeth only to wake and find Lucille Ball doing everything she could to do the same. Last night proved to be an odd exception. I had (as always) TVLand running as I slept. Anyone who watches that channel most likely does as I do because it is a chance to totally escape from reality. There is, except with extremely rare exception, no reference to the reality that we know as Life. I had a terribly involved but happily ending dream about a former neighbor of mine who was autistic. It was a stressful dream that involved my former neighbor out in the street causing a huge scene that drew the attention of the police before it was done. It was my dream, of course, so I ended up being the one that told everyone to just take a chill pill and sit while I worked to get my neighbor to settle down and come back home out off the street. The reason I mentioned this dream is because today there is an Atlanta story about an autistic boy who has been missing since last night. I guess I forgot to mention that my old neighbor, Jeffrey, was autistic..

Having spent ten years as a marine mammal trainer down at the Miami Seaquarium, I am very aware of the fact that the US Military has for many, many years enlisted sealions and bottlenosed dolphins as part of its defense. Today there was an article about this subject, and while it is a very, very serious topic, I got caught offguard and ended up giggling about the middle portion of the article regarding Operation KFC, Operation Kuwaiti Field Chicken. How do I, as a devoted animal lover and one who has a black "phoo~phoo" chicken sitting not ten feet from her desk, feel about animals used in the methods suggested in this military article? I know that there is nothing on this Earth that I could enjoy more than the freedom I have to be able to sit here for as long as my heart desires and type whatever comes to mind then post it publicly for the world to see.. How about you?

Anyone who spends any amount of time online these days can appreciate the wild, wide variety of people you get to meet and enjoy. Today, I received the most interesting thought to ponder:
Native American grandfather talking to his young grandson. He tells the boy he has two wolves inside of him struggling with each other. The first is the wolf of peace, love and kindness. The other wolf is fear, greed and hatred.
"Which wolf will win, grandfather?" asks the young boy.
"Whichever one I feed," is the reply.
I like that one.. For more from the swami who quoted that in amongst some very interesting thoughts, check out Wake Up Laughing with Swami Beyondananda.
