History of the Forgotten Realms
The history of Toril is long and interesting, with over 25000 years passing by since the first traces of life began on the surface of the planet. The standard measurement of time in Faerun(the western Realms) is Dale Reckogning(DR) which began when the Standing Stone was erected around 1400 years before the point the current novels are at. To start at the very begining, here is an article on the dawn of the Realms. An old empires timelineand perhaps the most prolific of human empires, aNetheril timeline are both available to give you an insight on some by-gone powers. Many distinct and somewhat isolated areas of the known world are worthy of seperate timelines. This would incled timelines of Kara-Tur(the large and populous Eastern Realms), Maztica(the newly discovered continent), and Narfell and Raumathar(a northern area of Faerun).
Replacing the many seperate timelines once on this page is the complete, comprohensive timeline. This is perhaps the most important page, for it is a true and dicisive look at all the major events in Realms history. Take a look at thistimeline.
Gods of the Forgotten Realms
The gods of the Forgotten Realms were creations of AO at the beging of time and play a huge role in the everyday life of a citizen of the realms. We will not focus on gods of the Eastern Realms at this time for information is too scarce. Now view my list of gods#1 or my second list that contains dwarven and elven gods as well.
Cyric may very well be the most documented god of the realms since his overthrowing of Bane. Read the history of Cyric and my information relating to the Cyrinishad.
Places of the Forgotten Realms
This area of the Forgotten Realms contains the main owners of Castle Darkhold and some basic information on the subject. Here are the sections. Castle Darkhold(intro), Castle Darkhold(Reign of the Giants), Castle Darkhold(A Dragon and Wildmen), Castle Darkhold(Varalla vs.the Zhentairim), You may also wish to view some very good lists of Important sites of the realms and Areas and cities(this is quite extensive) of the realms.I have also found everything you need to know about the towns of Phlan(pools trilogy), Everlund, Mulmaster, The Singing Rocks, and Grimspear.
Things Relating to the Forgotten Realms
This is the largest section on this page of the Forgotten Realms. It contains interesting information on many aspects of the Realms. You may look at stories, sayings, fighting styles, human races, trees, languages, and coins of the Realms.
Creatures of the Forgotten Realms
Right now all I have is a page of dragons and horse breeds of the Realms. I would like to get infomation on other creatures such as orcs if someone could tell me where to find it.
The Underdark
View some information about the drow society. Here's a page dedicated Drizzt Do'Urden. You can also read the collective essays of Drizzt Do'Urden(very long)
Calanders of the Realms
In this corner of the realms you may find a Calander of Faerun, a Calander of Maztica, or the constalations of Toril
