Vow of SilenceFull transcript
Unfortunately, the quiet vacation ends when Brother Timothy is murdered in the bell tower. Believing Jim is the cause and not the solution, Brother Jeremy locks Blair and Jim in their cell until another man, Brother Christopher is also murdered. Jim discovers a picture of Jackie Kozinski, a federal witness who testified against several mob bosses in the 1970’s. Jim thinks Kozinski is in hiding in the monastery. He also thinks the two murders were the result of a mob hit on Kozinski in the monastery. When he confronts Brother Jeremy with this information, Brother Marcus steps forward as Jackie Kozinski. Jim discovers the hit man has been masquerading as Brother Anthony. Brother Anthony sends everyone to the bell tower and demands Jackie step forward. All of the monks proclaim themselves the witness, so the hit man decides to burn down the entire monastery. Jim escapes the tower and apprehends Anthony but the mob boss who put out the hit shows up and everyone scatters to various buildings. With several of the monks wounded and their vow of non-violence in place, Jim and Blair must take on the three mobsters by themselves. Blair takes out one with a walking stick, Jim taking down Anthony with the front door of the monastery and Brother Jeremy hits the last with a shovel when he tries to shoot Blair. To protect the monastery and the witness from further murder attempts, Jim has Brother Marcus play dead until all the mobsters are led away. Episode Oddities:
