Etim. Maybe comes from Alcatraz, a now-closed high-secrity prison
on an island off the US's Pacific coast.

Ludo:Used
to be Beater for England and the Wimbourne Wasps, now Head of The Department of
Magical Games and Sports. Likes to bet on Quidditch games.
Etim. "Ludo" means game, play in
Latin. A bagman is a
person who collects money, as for racketeers.
-Basilisk: Fantastic snakelike creature who
kills its victims when they have direct eye contact.
-Beauxbatons: The wizarding school in France. The headmistress is Madame

for "beautiful wands".
-Bell, Katie: Chaser for Gryffindor. G
-Black, Regulus: Sirius's brother. Killed by Death Eaters. S

Sirius:
Harry's godfather. He was one of James's best friends. Thought by many to be a murderer, traitor, and Death Eater, he
really isn't.

-Bloody Baron: Slytherin ghost.
-Boggart:
A shape-shifter that lives in dark places such as closets. When seen, it turns
into the thing the watcher fears most. It's defeated by laughter.

"Baggart" (pronounced the same), an Irish word, means "a threat".

-Bryce, Frank: The Riddles' gardener.

Fantastic creatures with the body and limbs of a
horse, and torso, head and arms of a man. They can
predict important changes in the future by stargazing. There are many centaurs
in the Forbidden Forest.

Ravenclaw's seeker. She was also Harry's girlfriend, but they soon drifted apart. R
