Famous Characters of the Northlands

Joby Boontoggle brightens up at your request. "Famous people? Just let me tell you about all of the famous people that have sat in the very chair you now occupy, including the most famous of all, my brother Halliniferous Boontoggle!"

Captain Avi Berenstein, a 7-foot tall paladin of Carmichal, was a famous fighter from the Dark Wars. This giant of a human now commands the Kammerander 1st Heavy Footmen from exile in Abbysinia.

Halliniferous Boontoggle is a famous halfling adventurer/bard.

Willam Dunstead is Baron Muhlhausen and the Royal Chancellor of Cassenddy. He was appointed by King Karl IV right before the King's untimely death; he replaced the former Chancellor who disappeared under mysterious circumstances. His nosy and pushy character is likely to get him in trouble with powerful people.

Terril Faulknen is the owner of the Inn of the Mountain Solace on the Cam Malvern - Three Rivers Highroad at the junction to the road to Northwarden. He used to be a mercenary from Marblehead and will give a free drink to any fellow countrymen (or women).

Garby Globbins is one of Freuhaven's most infamous residents.

Jurgis Harlen is the gnome mayor of Canapia. He doesn't really pay much attention to laws, but just makes sure everyone leaves his illegal importing business alone.

Jondar Khelben is the Guildmaster of the Esteemed Guild of Magecraft and Regent of the College of Wizardry in Freuhaven. Many people objected when this Zakharian mage got both powerful positions.

Thorien Kyrell and the Twelve Companions journeyed in search of the legendary good dragons during the Dragon Wars. When they returned to the Northlands with the first wave of the mighty creatures, they were able to start turning the tide of the war in humanity's (and demihumanity's) favor.

Morann Larkenneld, King of Cassenddy, is probably one of the most powerful political figures in the Northlands. He came to power in 1183 Fd, after his brother, Karl IV, died in a hunting accident. Morann is infamously known for mysteriously pulling Cassenddy's army, the Kingsguard, out of the Dark Wars before the combined armies of Cassenddy, Karming, Marblehead, and the Swordslands could recapture Andalusia.

Amos Lekkle is the gnome weaponeer who owns shop Famous Amos's Weapons in Freuhaven. The shop has mostly useless gnome inventions, but one can find an occasional surprise.

Morgen of Canterbury was Archmage of Marblehead from 796 to 818 Fd. He was widely-renown for his practical jokes and ability to appear almost anywhere.

Raeblejorn the Islesman is a well-known wizard from the Stykll Isles that belongs to the Dodecadrate.

Rhadamanten is a famous paladin of Carmichal who fled his homeland of Sancerre after it was overwhelmed by giants from the Lunderhart Mountains.

Rogr of Osoerde is a famous traveling bard who recently completed his A Traveler's Companion to the Northlands. He was born in Andalusia.

Belvey Trethyr is the leader of the Seagate Free Mercenaries, one of the best mercenary groups in the Nrothlands.

Vanderheyden, the most powerful mage in the Northlands, is a resident of Freuhaven and is a high-profile member of the Dodecadrate.

Commodore Wilikson is the dwarven Commodore of Medinine's small navy. A crusty old short dwarf with a peg leg, Wilikson has a penchant for looking in his sea scope the wrong way.
