So now you've heard our story, and you know we're engineers,
We love to love each other, and we love to drink our beers.
We drink to everyone that comes from far or near,
'Cause we're Helluvahelluvahelluvahelluvahelluva Engineer!
-- The Engineer Hymn, last verse (I had to learn this for university)

Very few professions are as honourable as Engineering. The term "engineer" comes from the Latin "ingenium" - yep, that's right, as in ingenious, clever and talented. This is also from the Latin root "ingenerare", meaning "to create". WARNING: if you are an artsie (Arts/Humanities) or a commie (Commerce/Business), vamoose! You won't like it here. Engineers, scientists and other smart people ONLY. Nyah nyah!
Being an engineer means research, design, invention and project management. Famous engineering innovations include the English Channel's Chunnel, the Great Wall of China, NASA's Canadarm, the Internet, fibre optics, traffic lights, and child seats. Whether it's a sturdier polymer, the CN Tower or an electronic toll system, it was planned and designed by engineers. Even HoTaMaLe! was designed by an Engineer (me!). The oldest recorded Engineer, Khufu-onekh, designed the Great Pyramids at Giza. Who else were Engineers? Alexander Bell, Armand Bombardier, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo, Guglielmo Marconi, Tom Edison, Lee Iacocca and President Boris Yeltsin were all engineers. One of Ontario's famous engineers was Sir Sanford Fleming, who spearheaded steel bridge implementation for the Intercontinental Railway, invented Standard Time, time zones and the Canadian stamp. In conclusion, we apply science to solve problems. We have to know more than scientists, because we have to take their little toy or chemical gunk from the lab and make it fly. That's why Engineers Rule the World (ERTW). This page is dedicated to all my engineering friends: Justin, My, Wilfred, Dare, Geady, Tank Boy, Josh, Kook, Tory, Binh, Terence, Ty, Niki-chan, Sabir, ecetera; and family: Dad and Gloria. Always remember, we are the proud, we are the few, we are
the Engineers. And in the future, the artsies and commies will be working for us.
