ASSIGNMENT 3: UPLOADING YOUR WEB FILES TO THE CEA SERVER

At this point, you have created several web pages, including graphics, which you can view locally in your web browser. In order for the outside world to see your pages, you need to move copies to a web server. This process is known as uploading or FTP (file transfer protocol).

The main goal of this assignment is to make your web pages viewable by anyone with a web browser and your URL.

Assignment

Your assignment is to upload your HTML and graphics files to the CEA server. To do this, follow the instructions in Lesson 3.

 

Helpful Steps

  1. Upload files to CEA server (refer to Lesson 3 and/or Castro book).

  2. Test pages by entering your URL (http://www.cea.edu/~userid) in a web browser.

  3. If you're able to view the pages using the above address, great! If not, go back and troubleshoot.

Due Date

Assignment 3 (Uploading Your Web Files to the CEA Server) is due by class time Wednesday, September 27. (NOTE: You will have some time during the final class session to make last-minute changes and upload edited files once more.)
