Assignments 1-3 have provided you the foundation for a basic website. Now it's time to bring all the elements together, jazz up your pages a bit, and demonstrate what you've learned in this course!

Goal

The main goal of this assignment is for you to create a basic website to serve as an online resume or portfolio. The focus should be on using clean and effective HTML code to create and connect your web pages.

Assignment

Create a basic website incorporating elements introduced in class sessions 1-3, including text formatting, graphics, lists, dividers and links.

 

Site requirements

Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  1. Includes both text and graphics

  2. Contains at least 3-5 interconnected (linked) pages

  3. Has at least one outside link (to external URL) per page

  4. Has link to your email address on each page.

  5. Has a navigation system of relative links which connect pages within your site to each other and the homepage

  6. Created using hand-coded HTML, and not an HTML editor

  7. Demonstrates use of at least one HTML tag not covered in class (to find this, you can view others' source code, or look up a feature in the Castro book) - please use COMMENT command to highlight

Final Project (Create Online Resume/Portfolio) must be uploaded to the CEA server and tested by the break in class time Wednesday, September 27.
