Notes
Koukou means "high school," while Furinkan means "Windy Forest." It sounds like Wind Chime Hall in Japanese.

A common battleground. Furinkan is where most of the characters of the series (those still studying) go to school. But, for some strange reason, Shampoo, Mousse and Ryoga don't go to school, I guess Ryoga could, if he could find it. The staff is either crazy or completely fearful of their students, or at least they should be.

Furinkan is a fairly large school, I'd guess three or four thousand people. Anyway, it has an Olympics sized pool, basketball courts, and a big soccer stadium. It's also physically large. Around six or seven stories. Every once in a while, part of this school is destroyed, though it later resurrects. So far, i haven't seen it get destroyed as a whole.

Furinkan High has a lot of students, but only a few are actually given names in the series.

Ninomiya Hinako

Ranma and Akane's English teacher in Furinkan High School She first goes to work as a cute 10-year-old girl. But beware when she gets hold of 5-yen coin...she can absorb your battle aura. She can also use a 50-yen coin to absorb your "ki" even if your not doing anything. Actually, she can use anything round to do this; from coins to her hands(she forms a cirle with them) to a basketball ring...When she absorbs "ki", her body grows with *ahem* quite a figure, takes on the personality of something like Wufei's of Gundam Wing ("I'll show you the true meaning of justice!) and rids the world of delinquents (even though some of these "delinquents" really aren't what she thinks they are...clear enough, right?). The one to blame is none other than the great master and pervert, Happosai.

When she was a sickly child, Happosai trained Hinako in what she thought was "best gymnastics." When in fact, he taught her the Happo-goen-satsu "ki" absorption technique to take out the opposition to his panty raids.
Entrance: Volume 25 part 3. OAV 4.

Other Students

Gosunkugi Hikaru
Spooky classmate of Ranma and Akane. Obsessed with Akane, he takes pictures of her and tries to gain her companionship. Jealous of Ranma, he nails voodoo dolls with strands of Ranma's hair to trees and posts. He becomes a spy for Kuno and Kodachi in their plots to cause trouble for Ranma. Wears unconvincing disguises when he tries to do something sneaky. He has big dark patches under his eyes. He also straps burning candles to his head. His weapon is a small wooden hammer, which rarely does any good.
Gosunkugi means "5 'sun' [measure: about an inch] nail." Hikaru means "shine".

Hiroshi
Brown-haired classmate who admires Akane (and Ranma-chan even if she is really a guy).

Yuka
Akane's friend with long brown hair.

Daisuke
Black-haired classmate who admires Akane (and Ranma even if she is really a guy).

Sayuri
Akane's friend with short black ponytailed hair.
