Position Qualifications:
To be a United States Senator for Michigan a person must be 30 years or older.  He or she must have been a registered voter for at least 4 years prior to appointment.  He or she can not have been convicted of a violation of 12a(1) of act No. 370 of the Public Acts of 1941, being section 381129 of the michigan compiled laws 20 years prior to appointment.
Nomination Process:
Candidates for Governor are nominated in the August primary election every 2 years.
Election Time:
The Governor in Michigan is elected every 2 years in November.
Ballot Qualifications:
To be placed on the voting ballot in Michigan, a candidate for Governor must have affiliation with one of the main political party's or they must file a petition.  The petition needs signatures at least equaling 1% of the number of votes cast in the last election for Governor.  These signatures must include at least 100 signatures per congressional district from different congressional districts equaling at least 50% of the total number of congressional districts.
