Position Qualifications:

To be a Michigan State University Trustee a person must be  licensed to practice law in that state.  They have to have not been convicted of a violation of 12a(1) of act No. 370 of the Public Acts of 1941, being section 381129 of the michigan compiled laws 20 years prior to appointment.
Nomination Process:
Candidates must be a member of a political party or they must file a petition.  The petition needs signatures at least equaling 1% of the number of votes cast in the last election for governor.  These signatures must include at least 100 signatures per congressional district from different congressional districts equaling at least 50% of the total number of congressional districts.
Election Time:
November.
