Position Qualifications:
To be a Supreme Court Justice a person must be a citizen of their state and licensed to practice law in that state. They must be less than 70 years old at the time or their appointment and they have to have not been convicted of a violation of 12a(1) of act No. 370 of the Public Acts of 1941, being section 381129 of the michigan compiled laws 20 years prior to appointment.Nomination Process:All who qualify and wish to run for this position may be placed on the ballot.Election Time:Novembers.Ballot Qualifications:To be placed on the voting ballot in Michigan, a Presidential candidate must have affiliation with a political party or they must file a petition. The petition needs signatures at least equaling 1% of the number of votes cast in the last election for governor. These signatures must include at least 100 signatures per congressional district from different congressional districts equaling at least 50% of the total number of congressional districts.
