In Memory of the Innocent who lost their lives in the September 11 Attacks - R.I.P.

Last Updated: August 22, 2002 - Thursday [Adelaide Time] It's apparently 'official' that Mark will be playing in next month's Davis Cup tie against India. Fantastic news for all involved, especially us - the Adelaide Fans - who looks like will be blessed with two appearances from Mark to our humble state in one year! There is a higher being :-) Seems like there's been a mad rush for tickets since the announcement because I enquired at BASS this afternoon and they said that there are only a couple of hundred tickets left to be sold and they are still undecided as to where the court will be located (which I thought seemed a bit odd as I thought Memorial Drive only had ONE Main Court - your guess is as good as mine on that matter). But like where the court will be matters right now right? What matters is that Mark will be there to play for Australia! WooHoo! So I call on all Adelaide-based Mark fans to buy their tickets ASAP so not to miss out. I'll be buying mine this coming week! Let's support Mark as much as we can. We're looking forward to your arrival to SA, Mark :-) P.S. Here's to you for the upcoming US Open - the DC Announcement has me excited I nearly forgot that there's still one Major to think about. Schalken is going to be a tough one! Go Mark! Rock On! Last Updated: August 7, 2002 - Wednesday [Adelaide Time] It's exactly a month since our last update. Apologies all-round - we've been very busy with other matters. But there's cause for celebration as Mark qualifies for the Cincinnati Masters Series which started this week. Mark had to play to qualifying rounds to get to the Main Draw so a job well done to Mark! And at the time of print, he had won his First Round match and is due to meet Richard Krajicek for what surely will become the Match of the Week - considering what happened at Wimbledon. Can everyone say, Revenge? Looking forward, the US Open is just a few weeks away. Not much hype surrounding Mark, compared to the whole Wimbledon hype, but instead it has been transferred onto South Australia's own, Lleyton Hewitt. Perhaps this is Mark's year? Just to creep in there.....and surprise them all! A quick congratulations to the Rafter Clan. Baby Joshua Patrick came into the world sometime last week. Took a few days to give him a name but now, as Rove would say, crisis over :-) Finally, Mark's new hair cut! Anyone got a pic? If they do, post a link at the MB or send it in to me! We're desperate to see the new 'do :-) Go Mark! Rock On! ***** Please view AOTM V2 with Internet Explorer 5.0+ ***** © An Ode To Mark 2000-2002 |
