Last Updated: June 26, 2002 - Wednesday [Adelaide Time] Tonight/today [depending on which continent you live in], Mark will meet Thomas Enqvist for their Second Round Wimbledon Match. Mark, this is your first real test, let's see you pass it. Yes people, Wimbledon has well and truly began. We were lucky enough to have seen half an hour of Mark's match on Monday. After months of not seeing him in action that sure was nice :-) No blue shirt but that's okay. Just as long as he's winning. But the blue bandana is still there! Lately Mark has been getting lots of mentions in our local newspaper. How that came about is a mystery to me as it's normally filled to the brim with things on Lleyton. But of course there's lots of focus on the fact that Mark gave up all his 'toys' and the sports writers sure haven't forgotten any of the Davis Cup/ Pat Cash saga. I don't know whether they'll ever let it go. But let's end today's on a high and positive note. Here's a quote from Mark that I particularly liked: "I'm loving life. I love my family. I love my friends. They're all healthy. I'm healthy. That's what it's all about." Mark's got the idea doesn't he? I reckon it comes close to answering the purpose of life. Aaawwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Don't you just love backstabbers? We've all been there and might have even done it ourselves but what Mark's had to endure from the stab in the back from Pat Cash cannot compare to what you and I might have experienced. At least Pat's making money out of all this. Ain't he lucky? It's safe to say that Pat Cash must be the most hated man this week. Mark fans all over the Net has turned on him and for good reason in my opinion. How could he go and bite the hand that fed him for many years. Having a bad break-up with Mark doesn't justify his actions. If what he has written is indeed true then I say keep it to yourself because at the end of the day it doesn't help anybody. Oh wait, that's right it helps Pat Cash pay off his....(nah, I'm not going there). This whole Pat Cash thing has overshadowed Mark's preparation for Wimbledon. When Mark wins it I would suggest that the first thing he do is scribble off the name of one 'Patrick Cash' off the Winner's Trophy. Champions don't lower themselves to that standard. If Pat is such an honourable man, he need not take jibes at people he once considered friends. You should be ashamed of yourself Mr. Cash! Finally, good on the Wimbledon Tennis Club for refusing to sell Pat's book at their Official Shop. *clap clap clap* Let's get back to tennis shall we? Oh and how can I forget, to that Anonymous Poster who posted that ever so brief but hurtful message on the MB a couple of weeks ago, good on ya! Last Updated: June 18, 2002 - Tuesday [Adelaide Time]
It's that time of the year, when Strawberries & Champagne are the norm and all eyes are on the green grass of Wimbledon. It's that time of the year that tennis maniacs around the world lose much needed sleep just to watch one hell of a tennis match - the classic 5-setter on Wimbledon grass. Ladies & Gentlemen, IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR! And this year, Mark's made some bold predictions as just to how much success he'll have at Wimbledon this year. The man's got a plan and we're all anticipating seeing him back on court, back in the groove :-) Mark, just know that you have all of your fans' support. No matter how well you do at Wimbledon, all that matters is we're rooting for you all the way. On other aspects....the MB is abuzz so come join us for some goss, fun & just your plain ol' chatting between fellow-fans. Post if you dare :-) Plus, don't forget to visit the Official Wimbledon Site at http://www.wimbledon.org - keep yourself up-to-date with all the latest scores! Finally, check this out: one of Soz's fab Plaque Creations! Dedicated especially for Mark :-)

I update when I'm happy and right now and I'm very happy :-) Mark won his Second Round match at Queen's against Brit Greg Rusedski (6-7, 7-6, 7-6). Now if that wasn't a match then I don't know what else. I personally didn't see *any* of the match but going by the scoreline it looks like it was one great match from both players. Tough, it must have been. But it was fantastic to hear this morning that Mark had won the battle. It made for a perfect day (almost, if only the weather had been good). So now it's onto the Third Round (opponent yet to be decided). Whoever it might be, I hope they're ready for their dose of Scud Attack! Site-wise, I have put up numerous numbers of links to pictures and articles at our An Ode To Mark Message Board - posters are growing by the minute and we'd love to have you there too! There you will find a bunch of fans who knows what they're talking about when it comes to Mark (and loads of links to pics and all other Mark goodies). Come join us today! Keep Warm Everyone! Some great news to start this off: Mark won his First Round match at Queen's against Brit Michael Lee and will now meet Greg Rusedski in the Second Round. But more importantly, Mark was granted a Wildcard for Wimbledon 2002. Could he 'do a Goran' and be the second Wildcard entry to win the title? Stranger things have happened, that's for sure! French Open 2002 has drawn to a close with the Women's and Men's Champions being, Serena Williams and Albert Costa, respectively. Congratulations to both players. Other schtuff: The World Cup is on right now so that's taken up quite a bit of my time. The French Open Tipping didn't quite take off but we did get one tipster who will now get all the prizes! (Yipee! to that lucky gal). We will start a Wimbledon Tipping if there's enough interest (email or post on the MB) and to all those Mark fans out there who like to 'talk Mark', join us at our MB where some interesting convos have been started. Thanks to our current regulars Jour, JMP and Cara for making the MB a warm and fun place to be. There's room for more people to join! Keep Warm Everyone! Although Mark's been bundled out of the French Open 2002, we're still keeping up with all the matches. I personally haven't seen any matches whatsoever (and yes, we do get coverage), I manage to keep up thru the ever-trusty newspaper. I am not even gonna predict who I think will win because whoever I barrack for seems to lose the next round. I don't particularly wanna give the kiss of defeat. May the best man and ladee win :-) Speaking of tipping who will win the French Open, we at the AOTM Message Board just started our French Open 2002 Tennis Tipping. Go to the MB to check out the rules and join in - you could win Mark photos and the like (whatever I have kept through the past few years). It will be pretty quick tipping seeing we've really only got the Quarters, Semis and Finals to tip. I'll be far more organised in time for Wimbledon - that oughta be fun! Join us today! Also, if anyone has a brilliant idea for a new section for the Site, let me know. I'm feeling a little creative lately so give me a project to do during those insomnia driven days :-) A Mark Project would do just fine.
