Wimbledon 2003 - Looking to the Future

It's been an exciting fortnight. We were treated by some very memorable, fighting spirit from Mark and we were all there to see the heartbreak loss to Richard Krajicek. Those three days dragged on.....

But we here at AOTM are not one to dwell on the past. And the Fourth Round of Wimbledon 2002 is certainly the past. We look forward to more positive tennis from Mark and wish him only the very best for his feature tennis endeavours. After his magnificent showing at this year at the All-England Club, anything is possible for Mark, as long as he puts his mind to it.

Mark, we applaud you for what you did at Wimbledon. Thanks for the excitement, the anticipation and not to mention the sleepless nights we all went through just to see our main man live his dream. Yes, you didn't quite reach the Holy Grail of Tennis, but as you said yourself, you have many more years to come. But why stop at one Wimbledon title? Aim for it all :-)

Here in South Australia you received tremendous support from the local press who normally only rave on about SA's Favourite Son, Lleyton Hewitt. They have finally realised that you have the drive and the potential to be a big threat at the Grand Slams. You certainly showed them!

Thanks Mark!

Site-wise, I didn't update much as I've been a little busy. Things are wrapping up at work and I do start PostGrad studies in two weeks time. If anyone out there knows what it's like to be a PostGrad student, could you give me some much needed advice? My Supervisor told me to come to class 'Cold Turkey' and that really terrified me!? HELP!

Go Mark! Rock On!

Just a few men stand in the way......

Tonight/today Mark meets Richard Krajicek in the Fourth Round of Wimbledon. In an attempt to not pre-empt anything, I'm going to leave it at that. Mark's destiny is all up to him.

I did some housekeeping around the Site. The Flip Vault now contains all of the Post-Match Interviews that Mark has done at Wimbledon. They are courtesty of the Wimbledon Official Site. I thought it would be nice to have them chronicled as Mark comes up with some classic interview answers. Really poetic and deep, just like Mark. Wish I could say the same about some of the lame questions that were thrown at him.

Also, for all you die-hard Mark fans out there: does anyone know which Island/Place in Greece Mark's Dad is from. Nick, another Mark Fan would really appreciate it if you can help. Go the Message Board to answer Nick or email me.

Finally, this is my last plea for all your troublemakers out there. Can you please stay away from the Message Board. If you've got nothing nice to say about Mark then keep it to yourself! And please, try and grasp the concept of a Fan Site. Fan being the operative word!

And one last thing, I'm in the process of organising this Site's Site Map seeing there are a handful of links scattered all over the Site that new visitors might find a little hard to find. I shall have a little bit more spare time coming up in 3 weeks time. It will eventually be done. I promise.

On a side note: Go Brazil! I very much enjoyed this year's World Cup. To make this weekend even more sweeter, I got 8 out of 8 in my Footy Tips. What a fluke!

Keep Warm Everyone!
