Last Updated: May 29, 2002 - Wednesday [Adelaide Time] I AM! And about a thousand and one other Mark fans out there who saw their fave man beat the odds and come back from a 2 sets to love deficit to advance to the Second Round of the French Open. Does that rock or what? I have to admit, I went to bed Tuesday night not feeling too confident with Mark's situation. I should know better than to doubt THE man (I will know for next time). This come-from-behind win just shows how tough Mark is, both physically and mentally. Being down 2 sets would be tough to handle for any player, let alone to one who didn't have the best preparation. But Mark pulled it off and that makes the victory so much sweeter. Now it's on to Carlos Moya.....I personally have not seen Carlos' recent form but after Mark match with Julien Varlet, anything is possible. Moya better take notice of the World No 130! Mark shouldn't be taken lightly....never! Please note, the Archived Updates is STILL all out of whack thanks to my careless editing, it'll be fixed up by the time I next update, whenever that might be. Mark plays a qualifier with a first name of Julian (I think?!), that's all I know from the top of my head. He does play TONIGHT - coverage on free-tv starts at 11:30pm on Channel 7. I'm counting down the hours..... I'm not gonna give my prediction on who I think will reach the final coz to be honest I have no idea who's in form and who's not. All I know is that Mark didn't really have the BEST preparation for the French Open so as much as I hate to say it, I don't feel confident with Mark's chances. But Mark, feel free to prove me wrong, please! The next couple of weeks should be really exciting. I'm a sucker for sentimentality so if I had to pick anyone who I would love to see the French go to Guga (second to Mark of course). In the Women's, I wouldn't mind seeing Jennifer Capriati take the title. Ashanti), please let me know I'd love to whack in to this page as I absolutely lurve that tune! ***** Please view AOTM V2 with Internet Explorer 5.0+ ***** © An Ode To Mark 2000-2002 |
