This page have the posts I made since the beginning of this website to 20th March 2004. I made a separate page for those posts as my primary interchange page is getting very very long.

20th  March  2004

I'm typing this message at the end of the third week of my 1st term here. Boy was it a hectic week. I got assignments to complete and hand in, subjects to catch up and at the same time have to juggle my social life as well. I was bored and tired of doing anything related to uni for a while so I decide to add in some entries here.

For a start, I think I'll continue talking about Adelaide. The food here is comparatively more expensive than in KL but the portion is huge! One AUD 6-7 meal is enough to feed 2 person sharing a big plate of Char Kyeow Teow at a hawker stall in Subang. I'm not sure if I'm going to gain weight or grow sideways now that the meals are larger than before. Maybe I should look for a weighing machine to check out my weight and see if my new diet is good for me.  Also , I tried some 'subway' style food which has pieces of ham and olives and the usual stuff which you would put in a sandwich. It taste just like the ham sandwich in Europe and taste different compared to our local ham. One note though, there are no ham sandwiches sold like this back home as ham is pork and pork isn't halal. So I better enjoy the food here before going home or I might regret later!

This weekend in Adelaide there is a racing event going on. Several roads leading to the city are closed to allow the race to be held on them! For the past week workers slowly build barriers (you know , the one which you see in F1) , make-shift grandstand and fences to close up the area to form the race track. The track is very near my hostel , I think about 500m or less. Even in my room I can hear the roar of the cars racing round the track (after watching the Japan GT in Sepang, I'll say these cars are of similar loudness) . But I can't see the race from my hostel as the building isn't high enough! If my hostel were 2-3 stories taller maybe I could see the track albeit small though. I can try going to the roadside to see the race (like you would since it is in the city) but the grandstands are in the way and some of the fences are covered to prevent on-lookers. Add to the fact that it coincides with the Malaysian F1 GP in Sepang (and the 2004 election day) ,  I'll be in the common area watching Montoya beating Shumi. The good thing is that I get to watch some aerial acrobatics by stunt planes on that day.

Ok, that's all for Adelaide for now. Time to talk about Mechwarrior DA. Last Saturday I went to my friendly local venue to take part in a sealed tourney held there. Little did I know it was supposed to start at 11a.m , not 1 as I thought. So I watched how the tourney went. There were only 4 players that day as not many people like to come to sealed tourneys and blow AUD 30 to get trashed. It was a friendly easy going match between the players as 2 of them are newbies , 1 is a cut-throat player and the last person in the BM who joined in since got too little people. What I meant by cut-throat is that this bugger drew 2 of the 4 SC mechs which can shoot 16 inches and the cheating-as-hell SS Arrow 4 arty tank.

In the end the cut-throat player walk away with the LE Liao Hellstar and the 2 newbies got Colin Yukinov and Nikol Brane . I almost wanted to kick myself for not coming earlier as I might be able to get these super-ultra-rare mechs that were given out. But I think these  2 newbies deserve to get some rare mechs as they are ... newbies. I asked the BM after the battle to ask if he has any mechs to let go. He has ...lots of mechs and LEs to let go. He then took out some mechs and a folder FULL of dossiers. If I got AUD 1000 I would immediately ask if he's willing to sell all of them in one go. I purchased from him 2 mechs which are rare as hell ; Arnis Drummond (Dasher II) and C.Schiller (Griffin). Everyone was jealous of me after I posted on mechsphere (a website run by us Malaysian MWDA players).

That's not the only time I posted I got something big and rare. Two weeks ago I purchased a lot from the mechwarrior which sold me his Ken Roos. Now I got enough units to start a business back home but I still need to find that darned Kodiak.

Gosh , my post is so long already. And I still got more to say!! (Went and took a drink and stretch out)

Yesterday I was bored and tired after a long day at uni. So many assignments, so little time. After a few hours of doing homework, I went online and visit the usual sites which I visit everyday. I don't know what was going on my mind then, but I opened a new browser window , log on to google.com and typed my name in the search bar. The results that came out wasn't so impressive, as there are so many types of combination my name can produce. Then I thought, "why not put the name of the girl I love so dearly and miss so much into the search bar?". I proceeded to key in her name (I'm not going to tell of course) and the results that came out surprised and shock me at the same time. I was surprised google managed to home in on such a site which is related to her in the top-5 results and at the same time shocked to know that my girl has been awarded by her college not 1 but 2 prizes for getting the highest marks in 2 Canadian Pre-U courses. I did double check to make sure it was her. It was awarded recently, late last year (2003) and it is the course some of my friends said she was doing. It was really a boost to my morale to knowing that she is alive and kicking SERIOUS butt out there after a going through some rejections here.

After posting what I found on my class website (a site similar to mechsphere but for we 5Amanah geng) , a friend of mine ICQ me asking me if I know Java programming. I  ICQ him back saying I don't know anything about Java programming and also it is a coincidence that you ICQ me when I found some info about my love. I told him about her achievements and how I found her. What he later told me made me even more excited ; he met her at HIS university a week ago at the computer labs. She's doing Business for 1 year at his university.

I felt a sense of deja wu right before me. First, out of the blue, I decided to key in her name into google for fun , knowing that it is futile to locate her like that. Second, the fact her result appeared in the top-5 results and it was about her beating the crap out of everyone in her course.  Third, after posting a post on my class website, a classmate of mine at Monash Sunway ICQ me about Java. We never ICQ each other cause we do not belong to the same click in class (she however, was in his click) and we got nothing in common. Fourth, he explain that he met her at his university only recently. All these events happened after each other and they all tell about one thing, the girl I was looking for. Sheer coincidence ? An all-mighty power answering my prayer? My karma having a bull run? I don't know, after that incident it proves that if you want something so badly, just be patient and continue working and praying hard for it, as one day you might get what you wish for. I know the day will come when I get to see her again. Hopefully by that day we are both single and ready for each other.

**** The bold and italic sentence is a very emotional sentence. I created it by the fact that so many things I got were originally wants and dreams which later became reality soon or long after I ask for it.  I might not get it now, but sooner or later I got it****

That's all for now. After typing the last paragraph I am a lost for words.

18th  February  2004

It has been more than a week since I arrived in Adelaide. I am already well settled in here in my hostel room and have already gone to the university for the international students' orientation and enrolment briefing.

Adelaide is a small city compared to Kuala Lumpur back home. The city is so small that anywhere in Adelaide is within 30 minutes from the city center. The public transport here is very efficient and well organized. Compared to our metro bus , the buses here are well maintained and has a special hydraulic system to lower the bus so that it is level with the curb to allow the elderly and disable to board the bus. There is also a free bus service running round the city .

However the price of a bus ticket is more expensive than our buses at home (I think, since I RARELY use the buses in KL , got car :)  ) . A one way trip to the city from my hostel is AUD 1.40 on off-peak hours and AUD 1.90 at other times. With student card it is a AUD 0.90 and AUD 1.60 respectively. After multiplying it with the exchange rate you get the value in RM. Looks like if you want something efficient , organized and maintained, you need to pay for it.

Being a Mechwarrior geek (or nut) , I went  round the city looking for a Mechwarrior Dark Age venue. I found one located in a shopping complex along Rundle mall (Adelaide's shopping district) . Went in, bought myself a CS booster for AUD 15.95 ,which is RM 45 and then shook my head as it is soooo expensive!!!  It is only later I realized that there is another venue along the same row that not only it sells MWDA , but also organize tourneys with recent LEs! How I regret not packing a token force with me . At the second venue , I met up with one of the players who so happen to be selling his unique to earn some money for more CS stuff! Bought Ken Roos , the SH Warhammer IIC from him.

Could have bought more but I would burst my budget! My friends are all jealous of me because I not only was able to buy a Counterassault booster with good units in it , but also managed to acquire Ken Roos within the same week!

Thats all for now. I got too many things to say I don't know where to start.

5th  January  2004

It is now the year 2004! Time flies so quickly when you're having such a good time. You see, my final semester, which is the 6th semester ended in late October . It was followed by 2 months of care free holiday. Everyday lepak at home doing home chores , playing computer games , playing MWDA and getting ready to leave for Adelaide in 2004.

I will be leaving for Adelaide next month to pursue my degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Adelaide. I will be doing my third year of my course and will be there for 2 years.  Gosh , everything has been finalized , purchased and prepared except for one thing, my spectacles! Never mind, that will be done soon. Among the important items that has has done was sending in my application form , followed by the acceptance form , waiting for the COE (Confirmation of Enrolment) , applying for visa once the COE arrives, going for a medical check-up to apply for visa and finally settling the accommodation in Adelaide.  I compared the cost of accommodation in Adelaide and in Inti College Malaysia and guess what, it cost almost 3-4 times more! Not counting food , books and other miscellaneous items.

I realized that the last time I updated this site was 8 months ago!! Looks like I only bother to check on my website every 8 months or longer. So long in fact that YahooGeocities ask me to update my site or I'll lose everything! Which is why I'm now updating my site. I always wanted to upload a page or two about Mechwarrior Dark Age , my current craze at the moment.  I might add in a few pages with some photos of extreme  modifications done on the figures. So good were the modifications that it was way better than the one produced by Wizkids!

What about SMK Seafield? Am I going to add in new stuff ? The answer to that question is unfortunately no. Even though my school has gone through tremendous upgrades , construction and change, I wasn't there when all the changes took place. The new school hall is completed, its construction documented by the school magazine using my style of taking the photos at the same spot but at different time. They even show the progress with the same point of view as one of my photos. Kudos to whoever documented the progress and no he is not my bro. He/she must have got the same idea from this website :)

Right now I'm updating this page on my new laptop that I will bring along with me to Adelaide. It is a HP Compaq nx9000 with P4 mobile (not centrino) 2.2 Ghz with 512 mb of ram. It is a decent laptop with a DVD/CD-RW and a diskette drive . It also has a 3d card but it has big problems playing 3d games like 1st person shooters or games which torture 3D cards , which is OK since laptops are for work and not for serious gaming. If I want a gaming laptop I would take an AlienWare laptop :) I did not settle for a Centrino laptop as it doesn't have have a diskette drive and cost significantly higher .

27th  April  2003

Walauehh! Take a look at the date difference between this message and the earlier message! It's April 2003 and my site has a thick layer of dust on it. Wasn't able to update it because : 1) Too lazy to update the site 2) I have no new pictures of my school due to no photographer in Seafield. 3) Nothing new to write and update , even though Seafield is now completely different from when I left.

A lot of things have happen since August. Started my third semester with only 10 weeks instead of 15 weeks with ease. It was my best semester yet , scoring As in all subjects , because I liked them all. Then the third semester was all over and then begin my 7 week holiday (5 weeks from the original 15 week  semester and 2 weeks of the original holiday). After the holidays came my fourth semester in which I'm taking 5 subjects. At the end of the fourth semester , my results were Oklah. Right now is the start of my fifth semester and I hope it won't be another 8 months before I update this page again.

If there is anything that interest me now is Mechwarrior! I'm playing the computer game Mechwarrior 4 : Mercenaries  and the collectable miniatures game Mechwarrior Dark Age! Started playing the miniatures game in November when my best friend introduced it to me. So far , I have quite a number of miniatures , anything from a paperweight figure (useless figure) to the killer figure that everyone wants to trade with you and drool when they looked at it.

13th  August  2002

After waiting for nearly 4 months since my last message (dated 24th January) , I got my dream machine. What's it's specs? Pentium 4 1.8 GHz , Geforce 4 Mx440 , 256 DDR-Ram and a big 40 Gigabyte hard disk to hold all my data. Comparing this machine with my P3 dinosaur , this is a real behemoth.  So right now you're asking , did I manage to complete the SMK Seafield map using the RED editor. Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete it for two very big reasons. The first reason is  even with a P4 and a Ge-force 4 , the game keeps jumping back to Windows and if it's in multiplayer the game will hang!! I was expecting the game to run smoothly on a P4 or a machine with a Geforce 3 but it turns out no one would be able to play the map in all its glory. The second reason is that I was too busy studying for my course. After studying I just want to load up a game and start releasing the tension within me. Also , constructing the map was too tedious.

Looks like the only SMK Seafield structure in cyberspace is the canteen

A few weeks ago , I decided to check out the type of visitors which visits my site .  To my surprise , those who arrived here using popular search engines were people who typed in keyword like "Half-life toubleshooting" , "Red faction errors" and other things related to fixing gaming or technical bugs in games. I 'm sure people who used the above keywords and ended up here were definitely surprised.

So , will I ever construct the map now I got the behemoth to do it? I think not. It has been too long since I started the idea. Now the idea has saturated in my head and no longer keeps bugging me about it. Maybe someday there will be a map similar to my school.

24th  January 2002

I've updated the SMK in REd Faction page and added more screenshots of the canteen. I started construction of Block A only to find out that my PC isn't up to par with the requirements. My little "dinosaur" keeps making the editor and the game jump back to windows when I load the map. The map is playable ,  the lighting effects are great and it has a lot of breakable windows but I need a P4 with RD-RAM and a Ge-Force card to run it. I couldn't add any screenshots because the game keeps jumping back to windows. Currently , Block A is structurally complete  (with breakable glass and all it needs now is some lighting and objects. The map is still to risky to play a deathmatch because it will cause the computer to hang. I hope that problem is only limited to my "dinosaur" and doesn't cause anyone who plays the map problems. I haven't added anything about Block A at the SMK Seafield in Red  Faction yet.

By the way , my PC's configuration is P3 500Mhz , 128 SD-RAM and RIva TNT M64 32Mb. (The latest P4 is more than 4 times faster than  my com)

14  January 2002

When I mention that the map is 30 %  completed , I meant a map that has an almost completed Block A and with only 2 more Blocks to go. But bad luck stepped into my computer and when I was about to start the construction of the second Block , the editor went berserk . I'm not going to go detailed here about what happen but it looks like the editor weren't able to "rebuild" too many polygons. Looks like I need a workstation.

So what now? I've build the school canteen instead , which is smaller and easier to build . Added lighting and a  little this and that. Here's are some pictures of the map.

Impressive? It sure is. Using a tutorial from the internet , I've learned how to get the lighting right (there's a bug when it comes to lighting in the editor). The webpage for this section is on the links menu on the right.

2 January 2002

You might be asking why on earth I took more than a year to update this part of my site. The answer ? WEll , one of the reasons is that I'm studying for my SPM and secondly this is one part of my site I tend to neglect. Anyhow , I finally found time to update since I'm bored of playing computer games. For your information , I'm typing this message not in my house but in my hostel in Nilai (No , not from Nilai Memorial Park) . I'm now doing Dip. in Mechanical Engineering at Inti College Malaysia in Nilai. My only companion here is no other than my trusty pc.

I got some bad news and good news. The bad news? I'm unable to complete  a map of SMK Seafield in Half-Life (NOOO!!). The editor isn't suited for LARGE maps like seafield. The good news ? I'm building SMK Seafield in RED FACTION. A game that has GEO-Mod technology and is capable of creating huge maps. A game in which you can blast your school to smithereens ....Really , No joke. The page about it is still in my head though. But the map is 30.00000001% complete.

13 December 2000

The end of the year holidays are now nearly over and I'm plagued with the holiday mood attitude. Nothing much has been done to the personal section of my site , but I've done a lot work on the Seafield section by adding in a new section.

27 October 2000

After some time of figuring out whether it is necessary to implement the new navigational system to the SMK Seafield section , I've decided to scrapped the idea because the present system is already user friendly and still looks good at 800x600. With the new navigational system , I realized that there isn't enough space on the right for the nav bar due to the size of the photos.

The SMK Seafield in HL section have been updated. Multiple problems have arose when constructing the map that I've have to make some changes.

13 October 2000

I've inserted the SMK Seafield in Half-Life section . Find out why dream of creating Seafield in 3D!!

8 October 2000

As you can see , the site is now under renovation. The old primary interchange has been deleted (yes, deleted) and is now replaced by a new one . I've gotten rid of the frames because most advanced sites I've went doesn't utilized them anymore. I'm now opting to use the navigation like some sites which has a navigational toolbar on the left and the page's content on the right.

Is there anything new in my site? Well , the SMK Seafield section will be upgraded to implement the new navigation system and newer pictures and stuff. On the other hand , I'm going to create a section of my site that will let anyone with Half-Life to walk around the school in Multiplayer. Here's a screen shot on what I meant : ) . For security reasons , in case anyone will take my map and destroy my reputation , I'm NOT going to distribute the file freely.

AS for the guestbook , it has been devoid of its hyperlink entrance because someone who is of great cowardice 'mencarut' or raised hell in my guessbook. I really don't know who it was or what was his/her motive but he/she really screwed up some things (Most probably he/she can't stand the site's color or setup that I've delayed opting for a new one for a very long time)

For now , you can still visit the SMK Seafield section using the links on the left... :)
