..."NO!"...
Policeman in Red Square, Around Midnight December 20 1990, referring to our
vodka, cigarrettes, or Jaywalking, I still don't know which!
What Country is it this week?!
One Christmas I flew home with Aeroflot, via Moscow, staying one night in the city.
On the way home it was in the USSR, on the way back it was in the Russian Republic.

The City limits.

St. Peter's Basilica, Red Square.
The story goes that the Tsar told Russia's finest architects to build the most magnificent
building the world would ever know, so they did. When they had finished the Basilica, the
Tsar called for them again and asked if they hade more time and money, could they build an
even grander structure.Always eager to please, the architects said "Of course we can!"
So the Tsar ordered his troops to gouge their eyes out, in order that his basilica would never
be bettered.

(I have no idea how to spell Zherzhinsky, ask Tom Clancy.)
