Yesterday, the newest Los Angeles superhero team, Freedom Force, fought the supervillain group the Ultimates near the 405/105 interchange and over the N.A.S. airforce base. The first strike was made by the Ultimates when they cause a massive 40-car pileup on the 405 freeway. The supervillain known as Slick used his friction powers to make the freeway incredibly slippery, so that no vehicle on that 50ft stretch had any kind of traction. Freedom Force arrived, with Randal McFadden, Radium, and an unidentified super, and helped the victims of the accidents off the freeway and out of harm's way. An oil tanker that was involved in the accident was booby trapped by the Ultimates, and exploded, fortunately out of harm's way.
That was when the supervillain Faultline struck. An earthquake hit an over pass of the 405, which was backed up in traffic due to the accidents, which caused it to start to crumble. Maelstrom and McFadden did their best to support the overpass while their teammates got the cars off the top.
Then the Ultimates attacked the N.A.S.. Only two members of Freedom Force were able to head to the airport, Sekhmet and Major Mercury, as well as the ex-supervillain Radium. The battle was short lived as Major Mercury was accidentally thrown out of the fight, and Radium and Sekhmet were quickly blasted into unconsciousness. Radium had to be taken to a special hospital after the battle.
The Ultimates were able to break into airforce computers and uncover information regarding California's nuclear missile sites. The Ultimates were also able to keep Freedom Force diverted from their main goal the entire time. The Ultimates, who have a history of terrorist acts, are likely to strike again soon.
