For years the Super Heroes kept us protected from those who would control or oppress us. They kept the streets safe at night. They kept the schools safe for our children. We depended on them and they served us well.
Then Genocide came. And they nearly wiped the heroes out.
Genocide was a group of the world's most powerful super villains. It's team list read like a who's who of evil. Mechanon, Black Anne, Biohazard, Morgue, Arson, Shrike, Black Paladin, the Lune, Armada, and it's leader, Belial. They had one goal, to kill any super heroes they could. And they nearly succeeded.
By the time Genocide was finally defeated, over a score of super heroes were dead, including nearly the entire roster of the most powerful super hero team in the world, the Order of Freedom and Liberty. Other villains, who were not part of Genocide, had gone on rampages with no one left to keep them in check. We almost lost New York City to the villains. Those few heroes who were left, brave teams such as Redemption, the Champions, and Freedom Force took up the slack as best they could.
But the horrifying part, the truly horrifying part of it all wasn't ever told to the public. It was kept hidden, for if this truth got out, then everything would fall apart. The public would lose all faith in it's heroes, and if that happened, we would never be able to do our jobs efficiently without the publics trust. For that we have had to keep the truth secret from all.
The person behind Genocide was not Belial. In fact Belial was never even part of Genocide. We needed a villain to blame. He was the best choice, having died during the crises.
The person behind it was Captain Infinity. Our first, our brightest, our greatest super hero. He had betrayed us. No, he didn't betray us. He was never with us in the first place. For fifty years he pretended to be a hero, pretended to be a human. His only real concern was to weaken earth's defenses for when his race arrives. Fortunately for all of us, he was defeated by the Guardians of Justice two years ago in the Nevada deserts before his race could arrive on our world to destroy it.
I only wished I really believed that he was truly dead.

There have been a number of things that have garnered my attention over the last few months. Situations that may require further investigation or action.
- The Order of Freedom and Liberty has returned, saved by Redemption.
- The Unholy Trinity is slowly gaining power, especially Menton. Their purpose for this power is still unknown.
- The leader of the Zodiac, Taurus, is manipulating the super villain community, again for an unknown reason.
- The Ultimates are bent on proving themselves one of the most powerful super villain teams in the world. Their acts of terror have become increasingly violent.
- A being known as the God Killer has slowly been murdering the few ancient deities left in the world. I suspect he plans on bringing forth a new pantheon to our world.
- Three vampires have crossed over from another reality to ours.
- The U.S. government has chosen to deal with the growing super human threat in more direct manners, with their new War Machine and the new AErox drug.
All of these situations factor in to the increasing levels of chaos. The chaos is growing at an exponential rate, one which will overwhelm us in a matter of little more then a decade. It seems that the dates for the end of the world that the Mayans and the Hindus predicted are correct. I do what I can to delay the wave of chaos, but even I do not have the resources to stop it completely.
If the chaos cannot be stopped, then the world will cease to exist.
