Above GRANADA is the ALHAMBRA Park containing the Alcazaba, Palacio, and Generalife. After visiting the beautiful park, we went up to SIERRA NEVADA which has been developed for skiing. Then, travelling north to GUADIX, we looked out for cave-dwellers, which has been a popular form of traditional housing in this region.

Above Granada is the Alhambra Park, the best conserved Arabian palace of its era.

Living in excavated caves, casas-cueva, has been a popular form of traditional housing in this region.

Inland the main tourist draw in skiing. As the most southerly skiing range in Europe the Sierra Nevada is popular because of its long season of snow cover with high light levels, and easy access to urban Granada. It is even possible to reach the sunny coast in a few hours.
