19/Mar

After staying two nights at San Jose, we travelled down to CABO DE GATA. This is an important Natural Park, with the driest climate and most unspoilt character of any of the coastal ranges in this area. After that, we went toward west, SALOBRENA, notable for haveing one of the last significant planations of sugar cane on the Spanish coast.

It is another important Natural Park, with perhaps the driest climate and most unspoilt character of any of the coastal ranges in this area. We saw the fields of Sizal and Opuntia orchards.

It is another small village swollen by tourist development, but relatively tasteful by Spanish coast standards. The Costa Tropical is more rocky and cliffs have prevented tourist development.
