Base - The horizontal side of a figure. Generally used as the basis of length for the figure. A figure may have more than one base (see trapezoid, bases of a trapezoid).

Base angle - An angle included between the base of a figure and an adjacent side.

Base of an isoscles triangle> - The side of an isosceles triangle not congruent to the other two sides. See base angle.

Bases of a trapezoid - The two parallel sides of a trapezoid.

Betweenness - The distance between two points is equal to the total distance from those points to a point directly between them.

Bilateral - Having a relationship between two sides. See symmetry.

Binomial - A polynomial with two terms. See the explanation on Factoring Polynomials.

Bisector - Divides a figure into two equal parts.

Boundary - An edge or limit. See region, asymptote.

Bounded - Having an edge or limit. See asymptote.
