Map of Leicestershire

Where possible the towns and villages featured in the following graphics are marked with a light blue dot on the map. The images are scanned from snapshots taken by Barry Hands in 1960. There's two exceptions St. Peter's church Oadby which I took in Febuary 1963 a couple of weeks before migrating to Australia and St. Philips and St.James the parish church of Ratby. Ratby is home territory for my Argyle family and my father and his brothers and sisters are all buried in the church yard there. The Ratby photo is courtesy of Harold Gamble who has provided graphics for the homepage of the Bradgate Parish, this encompasses the churches of Groby, Ratby and Newtown Linford and is accessed from the following link.
Take a Trip to Bradgate Parish

Barry and Kate Hands migrated to Aus. in 1962 from Burbage.

Feel free to download whatever takes your fancy, and email me if you have any comments to make or notes to add. Any graphics sent will be put onto the page with an acknowledgement and your email address,if you'd like that included. The images are shown as THUMBNAILS but I think TOENAILS are a better description since a lefthand mouse click will take you to a larger graphic complete with FOOTNOTES.
