Gaultheria Castle

The castle is situated to the north-west of Silverwynd castle on the top of a gently sloping hill. The back side of the hill is covered in a dense evergreen forest, and at the foot of the hill is the small Fortuna River, which flows into the Lake of Nepenthe.

Gaultheria is made entirely of stone. Although most of the stones are the typical gray, the north tower contains stones that are made of an unusual rose color. This adds an air of mystery to the entire northern section of Gaultheria.

Gaultheria is well guarded. Over six hundred men are employed in keeping the castle, and all the people under its care, well protected. However, there have been times when dangerous adversaries have entered its walls under the guise of friendship. None of these have succeeded in their goals, or made it out alive.

The owner of Gaultheria is the famed Lady Poca. All in the area know of her generousity to those less fortunate, and of her wisdom with all things, both the ordinary, and the spiritual. She gives all the credit to Another. One who she sees as greater than all others in the land, and outside of the land. One who gave His life, so that she might live.

As you near the castle, you see villagers milling about, happy looks on their faces. Two children run past you, saying something about hearing the story. Curious, you follow them.
