Jennifer Dawn Lacy was in a fatal car accident on 9/15/2000 at 7 AM. I wrote this poem that very night. I think I was mourning more for the relationship I neglected to nurture and for the friends and family left behind.

So close to the 1 yr Anniversary of Jennifer’s death, my in-laws suffered a sudden death in their family, and right on the heels of that, America was Attacked

14 months to the day after the accident that took Jennifer’s life, her brother was in a near fatal accident

Jennifer's Granny was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2002. She had surgery to remove her stomach and also had chemotherapy and radiation treatments. All but one of the poems on the following page were written in the months preceding her death.
