Jennifer Dawn Lacy was in a fatal car accident on 9/15/2000 at 7 AM. I wrote this poem that very night. I think I was mourning more for the relationship I neglected to nurture and for the friends and family left behind.

Jennifer's Granny was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2002. She had surgery to remove her stomach and also had chemotherapy and radiation treatments. All but one of the poems on the following page were written in the months preceding her death.![]()
