I cannot believe the words I hear
This must be a joke of some kind
My body starts shaking the tears now fall
As truth penetrates my mind

Another accident like the one last year
That claimed a young lady’s life
This one threatening to take her brother
Keeping his love from being a wife

Prayers go out all over the world
That God will leave Michael here
But something inside of me wonders
If Jennifer is wanting him there

Lying abed hooked to tubes and machines
In the balance between life and death
Holding his hand and whispering prayers
As he fights for every breath

We question the reasons behind this trial
How much must this family endure
Praying and trusting the Father above
Breed a faith that is strong and pure

Willing to accept what God has planned
Makes it easier to traverse the unknown
We know someday God will explain
And the reason for this will be shown

We know God has a purpose here
He never acts on a whim
In a leap of faith we grab hold of God
And relinquish Michael to Him
