Notes
The Joketsuzoku, or Nyuchezuu, as the Chinese call it, means "woman hero tribe"
Since this is an all-women's tribe, I don't really understand much about "Shampoo's father"
or where he is now. In the manga, Shampoo's father witnesses her fall into Maoniichuan, and also works at the
Neko Hanten. (Sorry, I haven't read this part of the manga...I only found this out by surfing:) He is only a
background character, but he has a big part in the PC Engine CD-ROM action game as the boss of the final stage.
Also, I forgot how Mousse met Shampoo. If anybody knows, please tell me.

COLOGNE
Cologne is Shampoo's grandmother and, as mentioned before, the leader of the Joketsuzoku tribe in China.
Cologne punishes Shampoo when she came back to China from Tokyo without killing Saotome Ranma and not marrying him either, and throws her into the Jusenkyo springs. Later, she comes to Tokyo to look for her son-in-law.
It also turns out that she and Happosai knew each other a long time ago. She's practically the only one who can beat up Happosai good, though Ranma comes in close second.
Cologne who tries to make Ranma marry Shampoo, subtly grooms him by training him in new martial arts techniques. She usually calls him "muko-dono" or "son-in-law."
She and her granddaughter run the Neko Hanten.
Like Happosai, she is about 2 feet tall, very good at martial arts, and is about the same age as he is. And like Shampoo, she also uses strange objects from China to get Ranma to marry Shampoo, or to stop any obstacle in her way in doing that, take Tendo Akane and Mousse for example.
Her mode of transportation, and at the same time her weapon, is a gnarled wooden staff (which she uses somewhat like a pogo stick).
Notes about the name
Yes, yes, Cologne is a bathroom product. It is also a place in Germany, but in this case, it means "possible + rugged mountain place." In her first few appearances, she is called "o-baba" meaning honorable hag, and of course, grandmother by Shampoo.
 LINLIN AND RANRAN
Shampoo's "younger sister" villagers of her clan, who trained very
hard in ridiculous martial arts techniques when they saw Shampoo beaten by Ranma.
They come to Japan to ask Shampoo how she killed Ranma, and when they find out she hasn't,
they try to. Shampoo stops them the first time and gives them the kiss of death. But when their
techniques later backfire, Shampoo ends up saving their lives.
They speak according to a stereotype of Chinese people speaking Japanese, just like Shampoo.
Notes about the name
Their names are from real Chinese sisters famous for singing "LINLIN RANRAN ryuuen!" in a
TV commercial for a Chinese restaurant.
Techniques Used
(Kachuu) tenshin amaguri-ken "imperial broiled sweet chestnuts (in the fire) punch"
The technique of moving ones hands very very fast to snatch chestnuts from a burning fire, demonstrated by Cologne. Ranma learns it to get the fushichogan medicine so he can stand hot water again.
Appearance: Nettouhen episode 4. Volume 5 part 10.
Bakusai-ten-ketsu "blasting point hole"
Art of making rocks explode by punching a hole with one finger. Cologne taught this to Ryoga.
Appearance: Nettouhen episode 10. Volume 6 part 5.
Hiryuu shouten-ha "flying dragon ascension defeat"
The technique of drawing your opponent into the center of a circle, making your opponent hotter and hotter while keeping yourself cool, then releasing your cool punch at the center so that the temperature difference generates a whirlwind. Taught to a weak Ranma by Cologne.
Appearance: Nettouhen episode 49. Volume 13 part 4.
NEKO HANTEN
This is run by Cologne in which
Shampoo and Mousse also work in.
It's a usual hangout for the Ranma 1/2 cast.
It's name literally translates as "Cat Chinese Restaurant," but in the manga and series, it is translated as "Cat Café."
