HOW ARE YOU?

I feel fine. I hope, you feel as well as me. I am in my forties, I am a Hungarian intellectual and the longer I live, the more I love to live. May be you will understand me, if I say a few words about my family. Kriszta and Flóra in 1990 My wife, KOVÁTS Kriszta, is an actress and a pop singer. Nowadays she plays in Jesus Christ Superstar in Veszprem. That is a nice city 150 kms from Budapest. She comes and goes. I used to write lyrics for her CD-s and sometimes I write a poem to her. If you can read Hungarian, let me show you an example. My son goes to the Technical University but wants to change and learn foreign trade (not being a native speaker of English I am not quite sure that this is the correct name). My little daughter plays the piano, takes lessons in ballet, speaks English and German (besides speaking beautifully her mother tongue, Hungarian).
It is a must to meet our daughter. She is ten years old and besides all these activities she plays a lot with an enormous amount of dolls.

My children somewhere on the Canari Islands in 1994.

There are a few things that you may not know about Hungary, and, mainly, about Budapest. I have seen Rome and New York, London and Athens, Venice and Paris. However, I still think, Budapest is one of the world's most beautiful and most interesting places. Intellectually, it is a challenge to live in a country which goes through a historical transition (since 1989). Being a playwright and a lyricist, it is very good to be able to go to at least twenty-five theatres, both huge and small ones. Having a repertory system in our theatres, in Budapest you are able to go in an only month to see something of Chekhov, at least three plays of Shakespeare, something of Calderón (translated by me), Moliére, etc. I love our museums, too. There are extremely funny buildings in the middle of a big city. Can you imagine a castle in the very center of a capital? Well, we have one, it is called the Vajdahunyad castle. I live close to it. We have great classical orchestras and a high level live music culture in beautiful pubs, too. A friend of mine, who lives in London, said to me, after visiting a few places with me: if only I could have an evening like this in London! Before saying good-bye I mention, that it is no accident that my name on the web is kolumbusz. My greatest success up to now was a rock opera the book and lyrics written by me. Its music was composed by my friend, GALLAI Péter, whose photograph you may find on the "Alice" page of my site. I myself was the producer of this rock opera about Columbus (in the Hungarian spelling Kolumbusz) which ran in Budapest during the season of 1992-1993. If you are a professional you will guess how big the success was if I say that we broke even.

Coming for the first time to an American server, I just found it proper to use my hero's name.

By the way, I was first told about GeoCities by my friend Kilroy

So come and visit Budapest. The future always begins with the present.

Best wishes,
