BEGINNERS I

WEDNESDAY

6:15 PM - 7:00 PM

 

Learn how to control, communicate with, and enjoy your pet while preventing  or stopping behavior problems.  Teach commands to Sit, Down, Heel, Stay, Come, No.  For dogs and puppies 16 weeks of age and up.

 

 
BEGINNERS II

WEDNESDAY

7:00 PM - 7:45 PM

Continue your pet's education.  Practice previously learned commands.  Start  off-lead and out-of-sight training while gaining distance control and attention.  Teach the Down in motion and Stand.  Emphasis on coming-when-called off-lead.  For beginners I graduates.
 
CANINE GOOD CITIZEN PROGRAM/TEST

WEDNESDAY

7:45 PM - 8:30 PM

Your dog can truly become "Man's Best friend" through participation in the American Kennel Club (AKC) sanctioned Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program offered at Flying W.  Dogs that complete this six week course will be eligible to take the CGC Test, scheduled throughout the year at Flying W.  Upon passing, your dog will receive an official AKC certificate stating that he is a Canine Good Citizen.  This program is also used to evaluate dogs for Therapy Dog work.  Upon passing special tests given by the Therapy Dog International (TDI) evaluators, your dog and you will be able to visit hospitals, nursing homes and care facilities that invite TDI dogs to visit.  In addition, this class will emphasize off-lead recall and stay work, along with extra distraction training.
 
ATTENTION

WEDNESDAY

7:45 PM - 8:30 PM

Increase your dog's reliability and boost trainer confidence by teaching "head-up, eyes-on" attention and quick response to commands.  This class produces both well-mannered pets and competitive obedience dogs.  For dogs and trainers at all levels of training.  Dogs must be able to walk on a loose lead, sit and down off-lead, and be under verbal and emotional control.
 
NOVICE/BEGINNER OPEN

WEDNESDAY

8:30 PM - 9:45 PM

Polish your dog's performance and start advanced training exercises.  Pivots, positioning, the Figure Eight, the Finish, straight Fronts, Jumping, the Drop-on-Recall, Out-of-Sight Stays, transition and Off-Lead Heeling, holding and carrying a retrieve object.  A fun, upbeat class for canine Good Citizen and/or Attention graduates.
 
OPEN II

MONDAY

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

 

Practice and polish the Open exercises and prepare to exhibit for CDX.  Drop-on-Recall, beginning and  advanced retrieving, and jumping will be extensively covered.  Dogs must be able to recall and stay off-lead and have completed the Wednesday night program or equivalent training levels.

 

 
OBEDIENCE RING PREP/ADVANCED ATTENTION

MONDAY

7:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Prepare for exhibiting in the Obedience ring.  Advanced attention work, distraction and "proof" training, heeling drills, polishing fronts and finishes, use of advanced training tools, discussion of rules and regulations, "buddy" heeling, run-thrus, handler footwork and preparation and more.  For Novice through Utility dogs who have completed the Wednesday night program or equivalent training levels.
 
UTILITY

MONDAY

8:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Learn, practice or polish all Utility exercises.  Signals, Articles, Moving Stand, Directed Retrieve, Directed Jumping and Go-Outs will be extensively trained.  For dogs that can do Novice and Open exercises off-lead and have completed the Wednesday night program or equivalent training levels.
