Kiyone is unique in that she is the only lead character who did not feature in the original OVA series. Her first animated appearance was in Mihoshi's story in the OVA special "Galaxy Police Mihoshi's Space Adventure", and got enough fans to bring her back as a main character in the TV series. Just like her partner Mihoshi she is a member of the Galaxy Police. In service of the GP she is exemplary and level headed, and dedicated to her job. Mihoshi and Kiyone make the perfect odd couple in the TV series the actually are the only one to be the first people to move out of the Tenchi house hold.
