Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bessie Edith Pennell, 95, of Cave-in-Rock, died Thursday, August 28, 1997, in Saline Care Center at Harrisburg. She was the widow of Orval Pennell. Mrs. Pennell was a member of Potters Church in Cave-in-Rock. Surviving are a son, Larry Pennell of Cave-in-Rock; two daughters, Bonnie Nation of Marion, Ky. and Mary Hindall of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval, and a son, Hansel Pennell. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave-in-Rock, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Larry Lewis will officiate and burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave-In-Rock. Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Mt. Zion General Baptist Church. Burial is in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, a brother, a sister, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.

C. W. Barnard, known to his friends as "Kit", died Wednesday evening at 6 o'clock of dropsy. He was buried at the Coffee cemetary Thursday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the Big Saline church near there. He was 84 years, 1 month, and 6 days old. He was a member of the Cave - In - Rock masonic lodge and has been a mason for 60 years. He leaves 3 children: John, Mrs. Albert Sisk, and Mrs. Bert Perkins, all of Harrisburg, and a brother in Chicago, who was called to this city.

Obituary for Emerette Hambrink, Hardin County, IL
Failing to recover from her recent operation, Emerette Hambrink aged 68, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Oxford and wife of Peter H. Hambrink, died at her home at Rock Creek early Tuesday morning. Funeral services for her were held yesterday with Rev. Arthur Austin officiating. Burial was in Adams Cemetery. Mrs. Hambrink was born 9 Mar. 1872. She was married to P.H. Hambrink 19 Dec. 1899. Five of the children survive her, Orval and Bryan of Anna; Ota Stanley and Virgil of Chicago; and Maida Boultinghouse of Cave-in-Rock. There are two grandchildren, Clifford Martin of St. louis, and Everett Stanley of Chicago; one great grand child, Patsy Martin of St. Louis.
