Carbonomics Countries no.1: Britain’s Carbon Status. Britain is a Geophysiological Disaster Zone: The Autumn 2000 Floods were proof of the Country’s Gross Unsustainability.

The analysis of the autumn 2000 rainfall shows that, over the entire period, the quantity of rainfall was the greatest since records began in 1766 and that some of this rainfall was in the form of intense downpours. The succession of floods through the autumn months was also unique in recorded history. The longer the storms went on the more likely that the rainfall was a product of global burning. Although there is no evidence that global burning was involved the floods were suspiciously similar to those predicted would happen as a result of global burning. But the analysis suggests that the devastation of the country’s life sustaining processes was just as important a factor in the autumn floods as global burning. The country’s virtually non-existent Forest cover helped to boost global burning and, just as importantly, also provided an ideal landscape for flooding. Most of the country’s ‘Forests’ are overwhelmingly monocultural, regimented, Tree plantations bereft of Biodiversity and incapable of storing anything like the same amount of Carbon or water as natural Forests. The absence of Forests across the country meant the land had no capability of acting like a sponge to absorb rainwater and then release it slowly into streams and rivers. Most of the british isles is barren given that the country’s astro-Forests are mainly concentrated in particular parts of the country. The worst of the floods occurred in areas almost bereft of Trees and Woods let alone Forests. It could be argued that whilst the october floods seem to have been caused by the decimation of the countryside that has been carried out by pharmers since the second world war, the dominant factor in the november and december floods seems to have been the succession of storms over the entire autumn period.

In contrast to the doubts and uncertainties about the causes of the autumn 2000 floods, what is much less uncontentious is that the floods were the result of a double pharmer whammy: the pharming industry is the biggest contributor to global burning and the flooding in this country was worsened because british pharmers have deformed the land to such an extent it has become virtually incapable of absorbing heavy rainfall (or Carbon). It is not possible, unfortunately, to scientifically determine whether the autumn floods were caused more by global burning dumping excessive amounts of rain on the country or by the large scale disruption of the country’s water cycle. There is more than enough evidence of the scale, and severity, of the damage that pharmers have inflicted on the countryside to make it clear that it would be wrong to blame the autumn floods entirely on global burning. What is beyond doubt, however, is that pharmers were by far and away the biggest cause of the floods because of their critical roles in exacerbating global burning and desertifying the country’s landscape.

Although britain was the victim of the autumn 2000 climatic battering, it was also the culprit. The floods were a self-inflicted disaster no different from other self-induced ‘diseases of civilization’ afflicting british consumers. They were caused firstly by global burning, to which the country has enthusiastically contributed and, secondly, by the country’s plastic landscape which drained rainwater into areas which could not cope with such massive quantities of water. In effect, the autumn floods were the Earth’s retaliation against brutish eco-nazis for boosting global burning and for decimating the country’s life sustaining processes.

The floods were physical proof of the devastation of the country’s Photosynthetic capacity but, more importantly, they were proof of the country’s gross unsustainability.

The most accurate measure of a country’s contribution to the stabilization or destabilization of the climate, and thus its sustainability, is it’s Carbon status - the difference between the amount of Carbon a country dumps into the atmosphere (the supply side of the Carbon spiral or Carbon exports) and the amount of Carbon it absorbs through Photosynthesis (the demand side of the Carbon spiral or Carbon imports). According to the department of the environment, "UK CO2 emissions in 1990 totalled 160 million tonnes of carbon (mtC)." All the following calculations are based on figures for 1990 since this is the most recent date for a number of phenomena. The figure given in 1992 by the department of the environment for the quantity of Carbon emissions will be used in all subsequent calculations even though it is now out of date and has since been revised. But the figure is still relevant insomuchas it’s a considerable underestimate of the country’s current greenhouse emissions.

It can be concluded that britain is one of the world’s biggest Carbon debtors and thus one of the biggest contributors to global burning - even though the labour government declares itself a global leader in combating climate change and the country has a massive green movement. It is scandalous that both the british government and the brutish green movement struts around the world stage posing as environmental heroes when they not merely condone, but defend, what could be the world’s biggest Earth-wrecking nations.

The main reason for britain’s dire Carbon status is not merely its ultra-extravagant, appallingly wasteful, use of fossil fuels but the wholesale decimation of its Photosynthetic capacity - primarily deforestation. As has been noted, "Britain is one of the most deforested countries in the world in terms of natural forests. Native forests, which once covered 80% of Britain, have dwindled to about 1.5%. Virtually no primary forest remains ..." Only a piffling 10% of the u.k. is covered by Forests, most of which is made up of artificial Tree plantations. The country’s Forests extract a piddling 2.9mtC a year. Reforestation projects between 1990 and 2010 are expected to increase this by a ridiculously insignificant 600,000 tonnesC, "If the present rate of increase in tree cover continues, afforestation since 1990 could save 0.6 MtC in 2010." This works out 30,000 tonnes a year! The monthly, let alone annual, increase in the number of new cars on the road would replace the annual quantity of Carbon extracted from the atmosphere. In other words, in this country the Earth’s Photosynthetic capacity>>the Earth’s climate stabilization system>>the Earth’s life support system, has been virtually annihilated. It could almost serve as a definition of a geophysiological disaster zone. Environmental conditions in britain are far worse than those found in deserts! In deserts the difference between Carbon emissions and Carbon absorption is negligible - in brutland the difference is minus 157mtC!

The country’s geophysiological condition is so bad that even pharming releases 8 times more Carbon pollution than is being absorbed by the country’s Forests, "In 1990, greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture were 24.8 MtC, or around 12% of the UK’s total greenhouse gas emissions. This includes emissions estimated to be 8.7 MtC from land use change." And it has to be doubted whether the figure given for the pharming industry takes into account all Carbon emissions.

In order to gauge, on a common sense level, the state of britain’s Carbon status, it may be helpful to imagine trying to obtain a huge bank loan under similar conditions. The bank manager might look at the business plan and respond, "In 1990 your company spent (releases into the atmosphere) 160mtC and had an income (Carbon absorption) of 2.9mtC. This has hardly changed over the last ten years and there’s only a minuscule improvement planned for the next ten years. By 2010 your income will still not have reached 2% of your expenditure. This means you will have been running up debts for twenty consecutive years. Under these circumstances, you want my bank to invest x millions of pounds in your company? I think you’d be better off seeing a psychiatrist than a bank manager. Goodbye."

Paradoxically, the vast majority of people who travel around the country (usually as sods on motorways) see large areas of greenery in the countryside. Many enjoy, and even take pride in, the beauty of these seemingly luscious green landscapes. It is not difficult to understand why they assume the country must be playing an important part in keeping the planet green. They may even believe that if all other countries around the world enjoyed the same scale of Phytomass then the climate would not be on the verge of destabilization. Such is the conceit arising from ignorance. The statistics indicate the exact opposite conclusions.

The belief that britain is a ‘green and pleasant land’ is a politically induced delusion. To be more accurate it is an ideological crop fertilized by propaganda from the country’s landowning, pharming elite. Croplands around the country - most of which are grown to feed Animalkind - are planted, fertilised, protected, managed, harvested, stored, and marketed, with the aid of vast quantities of fossil fuels. They are just green oil slicks. The Plants/Crops/Grasses produced from crude oil aren’t much different from plastic plates or shopping bags. The countryside’s green beauty has an astro-turf nature which, unfortunately, disguises the wholesale devastation of the Earth’s life sustaining processes in this country. Thankfully, the autumn 2000 floods exposed, in a much more vivid way than government statistics, the sham of the country’s belief in its rich and luxuriant Biodiversity. It is just as ridiculous to talk about the country’s ‘green and pleasant motorways’ as it to talk about the country’s ‘green and pleasant’ countryside.

The figures for the country’s Carbon status show that far from playing a role in stabilizing the Earth’s climate, britain is provoking severe destabilization. Indeed, if britain’s Carbon status was replicated in all other countries around the world, the destabilization of the climate would be so bad that humans would currently be on the brink of ecocide. Britain’s contribution to climate stability should be judged not by green shadows flickering across the countryside but by the generalization of its Carbon status to all other countries around the world. The following chapter will explore these points.

The global pharming industry is the biggest contributor to global burning; the highly-intensive, british pharming industry contributes significantly to global burning; it releases vast quantities of Carbon emissions; it is the biggest contributor to the devastation of the Earth’s Photosynthetic capacity in britain; and was unquestionably the prime cause of the autumn 2000 floods. Pharmers have flattened the country’s landscape in many ways all of which contribute to global burning and the country’s vulnerability to flooding.

Such is the scale of ignorance in this country about the Earth’s life support system and the country’s Carbon status that the public does not blame pharmers for global burning; for deforestation; the appalling state of the Earth’s life sustaining processes in this country; nor the autumn 2000 floods.

This ignorance is also all-pervasive in the green movement - although greens also have vested interests to excuse their ignorance i.e. they support organic pharming or want to move into the countryside deserts created by pharmers. Greens preferred to blame the floods on global burning precisely because it allowed them to avoid criticizing their chums in the organic pharming movement.

Politicians were also reluctant to blame pharmers for the flooding. They refused to make the floods into a political issue. Even in november 2000 when pharmers were on their way to london demanding cheaper fuel and had to plough through the floods they had created, no politician seemed to notice the absurd irony of these catatonic, mass murdering thugs demanding more subsidies to boost global burning, flooding and bse.

The ignorance of the cadaver-eating, bseef-loving, pharmer friendly, media commentators is more profound than that of the public since they’ve managed to work their entire lives in the information economy without appreciating the damage caused by the pharming industry. The fact that these so-called commentators never blamed pharmers for their part in the autumn floods is partly due to the greenless greens failing to scream and shout about the pharming industry’s role in boosting global burning. Piers morgan, the editor of the mirror newspaper, argued that the november floods were ‘an act of god’ - showing what a blithering ignoramus he is about the geophysiological damage that pharmers have committed since the second world war.

A recent news item on regional television showed an article about the environment agency trying to persuade a group of pharmers to change their tilling methods in order to help prevent future floods. The implicit assumption here was that pharmers were responsible for the flooding but the commentator did not make this point explicit at all. There was no attempt to castigate the pharmers for what they had done - it was almost as if the matter was not of public concern because it was being sorted out by a bit of quiet diplomacy in the old boys’ network. The only time the media mentions pharmers and floods is in occasional news snippets which completely ignore the significance of the connection between the two. For example, in the middle of february 2001, oxfordshire suffered yet another lot of local floods. A front page article in the local paper exclaimed, ‘Floods: Here we go again’. It reported, "Torrential rain brought more flooding misery to oxfordshire for the second time in two months. An inch of rain - the monthly average for this time of year - fell within a few hours yesterday causing flash floods." Half way through the article it was casually mentioned, as if of no great significance, that, "The county council’s area highways engineer martin turner said, "I’ve never seen it so bad on the roads. The water is just flowing off the land on to the roads and the drainage system is choc-a-bloc."" The rain shouldn’t have been pouring off the fields. Everyday ideology tells us that rainwater runs off roads and into fields not vice a versa.

Pharmers do not blame themselves for the floods - but then again most criminals believe they are innocent. This is not surprising given that nobody else blames them either. If other people accused them of being eco-nazis they might at least consider the accusation - although, given their refusal to accept responsibility for bse and bse-cjd, this is unlikely. Many of them deny there is any such problem as global burning. Those who admit it is a problem tend to believe, like their political chums in the green movement, that climate change is caused by the fossil fuel industry not by the global pharmers’ union. They are likely to start taking global burning seriously only if there are substantial subsidies in it for them but they’ll still deny responsibility for global burning or the floods.

The most effective policy for combating global burning, and thus the floods it brings in its wake, is the abolition of the slave pharming industry and the natural reversion of pastureland into Forests. Oomano-imperialists in countries such as germany, holland, and america, have already started reigning in their grandiose oomano-imperialist delusions for redesigning nature to suit ooman interests. They have realized large Wilderness areas (preferably free of oomans) are needed to act as natural flood defence systems but also, and more fundamentally, as a means of absorbing atmospheric Carbon and stabilizing the climate. In britain, the contraction of the pharming industry that has taken place during the 1990s couldn’t have come at a better time. This contraction is absolutely marvellous news - it’s even more pleasing than thatcher’s decimation of the mining industry. The government should allow the pharming industry to collapse and leave the abandoned pharmland to revert back to its previous natural state i.e. Forests. The scale of the Reforestation needed to balance the country’s Carbon emissions and Carbon absorption is extensive - as will be shown quantitatively in the next chapter.

Of course, brutish pharmers won’t like this; capitalist Earth rapists won’t like this; socialist Earth-rapists would abhor the waste of these natural resources which could be exploited for the benefit of manufacturing more and more bipeds; conventional politicians would detest the loss of electoral opportunities for boosting gdp; and green Earth rapists are far too middle class to embarrass themselves in polite society by promoting something so primitive as Forests - putting aside for one moment that most of them are members of the national pharmers union or are desperately searching for opportunities to abandon urban areas for a plot of their own in the countryside where, as if by magic, they wouldn’t damage so much as a blade of Grass.

Oomano-imperialism in this country is so intense there is little likelihood of pharmers being abandoned and the land given back to its rightful owners - Wildlife. Indeed, some of the dip-stick, motorized masses are kicking themselves for not having installed flood construction systems before the autumn 2000 when they had the chance, "As the River Severn peaked at a height of 5.2 metres at the welsh bridge in shrewsbury, shropshire, many residents were regretting a decision not to build flood barriers in the town." Geoff beddow, a Labour borough councillor, seems to have been an opponent of the scheme - although only on the grounds of aesthetics rather than geophysiology. He said in his defence, "But apart from 1988 and now, we haven't had any major floods for over 40 years - it's just a set of bad circumstances." In other words, floods in 1940, 1988 and 2000! After a decade or more in which scientists have warned about rising global temperatures it is not unusual to hear global burning described as .. "just a set of bad circumstances". What this reveals is the immense scale of the stupidity facing anyone trying to explain rationally why this country is in a state of gross unsustainability and what needs to be done to remedy it. Doubtlessly, the local labour party will persuade this errant member back into its con-structionist fold. Socialists are construction mad - construction, construction, construction, is their answer to every problem. Flood con-struction projects are social mausoleums for demented eco-nazis.

Britain is one of leading eco-nazis’ countries dragging the world into an geocidal spiral of self-inflicted destruction. The reason for this is that this country has one of the world’s most intensive Animal slavery industries. This is possible because pharmers have their own political institution, the house of lords, to provide themselves with almost unlimited subsidies. These subsidies enable the country’s biggest Earth-rapists to cause as much damage as they want. The current level of subsidies to pharmers is £6 billion a year which dwarfs the total subsidies given to all other industries. In this country, as in all others around the world, the most geophysiologically destructive industry, is constantly showered with welfare benefit subsidies as if they were confetti. It would take an encyclopaedia to list the subsidies available for pharmers. There are various categories of subsidies being given to pharmers:-

Pharmers are given subsidies to get them to do something e.g. produce cadavers:

• meat production .. "support of British and EU taxpayers for national agriculture (is) nearly £6bn a year.

• meat exports. Meat exports need to be subsidized because otherwise they would be too expensive to buy. In other words, pharmers wouldn’t export brutish bseef if they weren’t subsidized to do so, "Mr richardson, a committee member of the british beef exporters group said, "Beef exporting is not viable without a subsidy." He said the cost of producing beef in Europe is far above the world price."

• Subsidies to get pharmers to go green, "The Government continues to support the planting of new woodland. For example, the farm woodland premium scheme encourages the planting of woodlands on land currently in productive agriculture."

Increasingly, pharmers are demanding subsidies from the government for anything they dreamt up the previous day:-

• free publicity to remind the public they need to eat the disease ridden meat that has been produced for them, "In January 1998 a £2m marketing campaign was launched to attempt to restore confidence in British beef."

• headage payments,

• fuel - red diesel allowance;

• arable payments,

• currency depreciatio, "A further £66m will compensate dairy, beef and sheep farmers for losses caused by the exchange rate. .."

• free drainage systems,

• untaxed tractors, etc. etc.

Pharmers are also given subsidies to get them NOT to do something:

• cutting down Woods and Hedges.

Pharmers are also given subsidies to do nothing:

• countryside stewardship grants;

"Four of brutland’s wealthiest landowners pocketed more than £1 million each in euro subsidies last year, it was revealed yesterday. Another 16 fat cat pharmers each got more than £500,000 under the common agricultural policy, the government said."; An english arable farmer was paid £1.25 million of taxpayers’ money not to produce crops in last year’s harvest. In total farmers were paid £840 million in state aid for doing nothing.

"Government subsidies connive in manipulating our diet - to eat fat. For example, an 80% subsidy is given to caterers of school meals and hospitals if they use full fat dairy products in their cooking, but is not given if the caterers use skimmed milk and low fat products."

Pharmers are also getting subsidies for things which everyone else in society has to pay for:

• no local rates - which means free police, free fire service, free water service, free drainage service.

• no planning application fees.

Pharmers are also getting a huge range of services at cheap rates:

• no installation fees for gas, electricity, water, telephones.

Pharmers are given subsidies to repair the damage they caused using their previous set of subsidies:-

• They receive subsidies if they damage their own land because of the flooding they provoke, "Farmers who have lost vast areas of winter-sown crops in the floods will be able to claim EU aid worth £87 an acre under measures approved by the Government yesterday. Crop losses are estimated to run into hundreds of millions of pounds. Ministers agreed to allow farmers, subject to permission from Brussels, to set aside land where cereal seeds for next year's harvest have been washed away or where the land is so waterlogged that surviving seed is unlikely to germinate. The move came as farmers' leaders prepared a "dossier of chaos" for Nick Brown, Minister of Agriculture, showing the extent of the damage. Elliot Morley, junior agriculture minister responsible for the countryside and flood defences, announced that, as an exceptional measure, the Government would allow 100 per cent of the area to be claimed for to be regarded as set-aside land. Farmers will have to sow grass, wild flowers or other plants which provide "green cover" on the land but which cannot not be harvested as a food crop."

• They receive subsidies for to install flood defence systems because the subsidies for land drainage cause floods.

The government also has to provide subsidies to pharmers, albeit indirectly, by compensating the victims of pharmers’ criminality. If pharmers’ victims weren’t compensated by the government they might sue the pharmers. More and more subsidies are having to be paid out because of the damage which pharmers are inflicting on society:-

• people whose properties have been damaged by shit-riddled, flood waters caused by pharmer induced global burning;

• local authorities having to increase their rates because of the damage caused by pharmer-induced floods;

• the national health service dealing with ooman health problems resulting from the large amounts of pollution that pharmers release into the environment;

• the disposal of large numbers of livestock who have contracted bse or bse-cjd.

The government also has to provide subsidies to pharmers, albeit indirectly, by having to repair the damage that pharmers cause to the environment:-

• measures taken to bring water quality up to standard after pharmers have dumped vast quantities of shit into the country’s rivers;

• damage caused by global burning.

There is not the slightest hope of combating global burning, stabilizing the climate, or creating a sustainable planet, without abolishing the slave pharming industry and allowing the land to revert back to Forests. If this is not done then environmentalists might as well forget about protecting the environment and just go out and party as much as they can before the collapse of the Earth’s life sustaining processes. The same applies to all other countries around the world. The touchstone for an governmental policy purporting to save the planet is the degree to which it dismantles the world’s Animal slavery industry and allows the land to revert to Forests. All else is irrelevant. All other environmental policies are so superficial they cannot provide any protection for the Earth’s life sustaining processes. The only purpose of such policies is to make people think that governments/greens are doing something to protect the environment when all they are doing is covering up the damage which eco-nazis are inflicting on the Earth.

In brutland, the spiral of pharmer-induced geophysiological destruction is clamped in place by a political system controlled by the landowning pharming aristocracy. Pharmers dominate the house of lords, even the allegedly reformed house of lords, and thus have a veto over the democratic system. This enables them to obtain the subsidies they need to fund their Earth wrecking spree. Pharmers also have a huge influence in the media. The corruption of the country’s political system is so appalling it has even spawned two entirely new fatal diseases which are currently spreading around the planet.

The media and the public loves pharmers no matter what they do. Pharmers can go around the country blockading industries into paying a ransom for their disease ridden products and the public and the media just offers them endless sympathy. In november 1997 pharmers hijacked a lorry and threw its contents into the irish sea - nobody was arrested for this crime and the police didn’t even bother to investigate it because it was carried out by those loveable, teddy bear, type pharmers who are above the law. During the last quarter of 1999 pharmers tried to stampede the country into a trade war with france after it rightly refusal to import brutland’s bse-infected bseef. Brutish pharmers denounced french pharmers for feeding their Animals on manure whilst doing exactly the same themselves - yes, indeed, coming up to five years after the announcement of the first 10 bse-cjd victims the Animal slavery industry is still being run along cannibalistic lines. The masses of brutish biped livestock then marched into the country’s supermarkets insisting on buying bse-infected brutish bseef as a demonstration of their patriotic support for good ole’ brutish pharmers and to express their abhorrence that the french weren’t going to eat this diseased meat, reared on a rich diet of manure, recycled bse, and any other crap that happened to be lying around in the meat and bone manufacturers’ backyard. Not content with this mayhem, in september 2000 pharmers nearly brought the country to a complete paralysis for the sake of reducing taxes on fuel - even though they weren’t paying any tax on their petrol. Pharmers also believe they have the right to shoot burglars in the back, in the dark, at point blank range, and without warning.

And yet in the media none of this warrants any criticism of pharmers. No commentator will make any criticism of pharmers whatsoever. All the cookery programmes on tv are for carnivores - there’s never been a single programme on vegan cooking. If a tv company produced a programme for vegetarians or vegans it would cause such a storm of protest from pharmers in the house of lords and the house of commons, that it would lead any decent person to suspect that a national scandal had been committed. The media treats vegetarians and vegans as traitors - as if it was a citizen’s patriotic duty to consume contaminated, diseased ridden, manure infested, drugged up, cadavers. Every time an Animal lover is interviewed on television they can start the interview only after denouncing the Animal liberation front which hasn’t harmed a Fly. The members of the national pharmers union kill tens of thousands of people every year and yet it’s Animal rights’ protestors who are the terrorists!!! It’s impossible to criticize pharmers in the media and, on the rare occasions it happens, there’s always a representative on hand from a national pharmers’ organization to deny the accusation with a series of lies. It’s believed that the director of the bbc has a representative of the national pharmers union constantly living in his office to vet everything he does - just as the blair government is to install a pharmers’ representative on every cabinet committee to make sure that no policies are agreed which might affect rural interests.

The bseef-loving, bseef contaminated, public also dotes on pharmers no matter how much money they have to fork out in subsidies to keep pharmers in the luxuries to which they have become accustomed. Motorists organize countrywide protests and barricades of petrol refineries because they object to paying 50p a week more in petrol taxes but they don’t seem to mind in the least forking out £20-30 a week so that pharmers can decimate the country’s landscape, murder 100 people through bse and flood the homes of 6,500 people.

Pharmers are being subsidized to destroy the Earth’s life sustaining processes and destabilize the climate. They receive almost global applause from the lords, the landowning aristocracy, the media, the public, and the green movement, for their misdeeds so it’s hardly surprising pharmers reciprocate by demanding even greater subsidies for causing even more damage. This is a society whose mass bigotry and stupidity over pharmers verges on the insane. The moral depravity of pharmers in this country is such that they can even demand subsidies from the families of the people they have murdered through bse-cjd and from the people who’s homes have been flooded by pharming sewage. Pharmers are being given more and more subsidies not merely to boost the destabilization of the climate but to prevent the most important action being taken to combat global burning and flooding - no, not the reduction of Carbon emissions, but Reforestation.

There are no technological answers to global burning or the floods. There are only geophysiological answers. The soppies (same old policies) are facing a soggy future. It has been suggested flooding could get ten times worse. Archie robertson of the environment agency stated, "Looking forward we can see that the sorts of serious flooding we have seen yesterday and today could be happening up to ten times more often than it has been in the past." And this is just one of the climatic problems caused by a pharmer dominated society!

It is profoundly depressing that these floods have not lead to the slightest questioning of pharmers’ role in the floods, no questioning of their enormous subsidies, no criticisms of their geophysiological destructiveness, and no demands for the abandonment of pastureland for the sake of restoring the Earth’s life support system. The floods could hardly be a more blatant warning about the country’s unsustainability and yet everyone is agreed that pharmers should be given ever more subsidies which will lead to the speed up of devastation and, eventually, geocide. And good riddance.

The autumn 2000 floods in britain were only a tiny suspicion about the threat posed by anthropogenic global burning but they were convincing proof of the devastation of the Earth’s life support system in this country. The increasing devastation of the countryside has contributed to global burning and exacerbated the consequence of global burning i.e. flooding. Flooding has been increasing in various localities in britain for a couple of decades. It was only a matter of time before large parts of the country were affected. Like bse, the country’s propensity for flooding has been spreading quietly for decades, but the occasional local outbreaks have been met with denials, until the day arrives when the outbreak is so vast it can no longer be denied. Right wingers might try to explain away the floods but the dangers posed by flooding can no longer be denied. Just as pharmers were responsible for spreading bse but denied it was a problem, so they are also responsible for decimating the country’s Phytomass and denying they are turning the country into a flood zone. It is unfortunate, then, that even though pharmers act like members of the trotskyist fourth international, the public regards them as angels. The public condones the vast subsidies being given to pharmers to enable them to go on spreading bse, bse-cjd, damaging the environment and flooding. They even believe that if pharmers suffer financially because of the damage they have caused as a result of their massive pharming subsidies, they should be given even more subsidies to help them over their self-inflicted problems. Pharmers take no responsibility for anything and regard themselves as guilty of nothing - but they expect vast subsidies allowing them to cause as much mayhem as they think they can get away with. They are loved by the public, greens, and ‘the telegraph’. Such is the deluded, fantasy world inhabited by the country’s eco-nazis.

Most people in this country, especially environmentalists, ecologists/conservationists, are suffering from a gross delusion about the sustainability of the Earth’s life sustaining processes in britain. Understanding virtually nothing about how the Earth works, they cannot conceive the country’s geophysiological condition in its planetary context. They are so far divorced from planetary realities they might as well be martians on a weekend holiday for two. But whilst british politicians, greens, and consumers, may be suffering from ‘Earth alienation’ (Hannah Arendt) the Earth is reacting against the appalling Earth wrecking activities of the country’s eco-nazis. The sooner people face up to the fact that this country is in a grossly unsustainable state; that it is becoming more and more unsustainable year after year, decade after decade; and that virtually everything that politicians, and to an extent greens, are doing is increasing this unsustainability, the better their chances of survival. In the past, Earth wreckers would have ignored such statements as useless speculation but ‘Carbonomics’ gives such statements quantifiable scientific validity. The days when greens needed to rely on gibberish phrases such as ‘living in harmony with nature’; ‘treading lightly on the Earth’ are over. The facts about the state of the Earth are not known in their entirety but even the crudest approximations are revealing enough. The following chapter quantifies britain’s historical Carbon budget, its appalling unsustainability, and its position as the world’s worst Earth wrecker.
