It's hard to describe why
It just sort of was
Maybe it was the rain
Maybe it was the second song
But man did I kiss her...

Until I saw Max in the doorway
Out of the corner of my eye
After hearing him cough
Twice

I was King of the world
And Isabel was my Queen
And her brother was watching
"Good-bye"
And I walked to the van

The night hadn't been a total failure
I did manage to kiss her
Let me repeat: kiss her
KISS her!
Kiss HER!

I looked back
From the van window
When we pulled off
It was good to be the king
And to have a queen... even during thunderstorms

Then I smiled
And remembered
We played Astro's tomorrow night
