Weather is cruel
We were so close
Then it rained

But it was worth it to see him in a wet T-shirt

"Alex, Is, we'll give you a ride"
t.g.f. Maria
Damn you thunderstorms!

Not to mention my make up
It's got to be in river form by now
I pass my hand over it
When he helps me in the back

"Don't mind the mess"
Says one of the front seat passengers
Maria is back here with the instruments
And us
Not much room, so I sit on his lap
Or as close to it as is possible

Maria looks away toward the rain
Why DOESN'T Michael come to these?
At least now I understand the constant PDA
Both Maria&Michael and Liz&Max are guilty
Now I am - he's hugging me - wet me

"She lives on the street across from you"
Alex tells the driver
And I'm too close to home
I don't want this night to end, still

Life isn't fair
"Right there, that one"
says Maria

And again we pile out of the van
I can only dream of what they
In the living room
Are thinking as I run toward the door
With Alex in toe

I can only want this night to end right
Tonight
And so does Alex
I know because when we reach the door
He pulls me close
And nails me with the finest...
Most elaborate...
Most spontaneous...
French kiss...
Of my life...
After he breaks away
I swear I can see him wink
"See ya tomorrow" and his walk back to that van
Is slow
And he doesn't acknowledge the guy half out the window
Whistling
Then I notice the open door
Max is standing there smiling
He sticks his hands in his pockets and leans agenst the door frame
And smiles some more
"Is" he nods
So I smile... and push him
With a nod
Out of my way into the house
