Description: Hi,I found this swing bike in the back of a old bike/locksmith shop. It has a 20" riser for the front handlebars, missing front brake and top decal, and all the chrome is rusty and pitted from being out side. The bike was so different and I never saw one before so I bought it. Its really a fun ride once you get used to it and the local kids like it because its a different bike.
Thanks for the web page on the bikes it helped me find out about this different but way cool bike.

Description: I have two swing bikes one is home made the other is just a frame with no original parts on it. I got it from a friend of mine who had picked it up at a swap meet in portland or. and sold it to me for $70. This friend and I saw a clip about these bikes on the local news in I think 1977, and as soon as we heard they were in a local store we rushed down to see them. As soon as my friend saw it he said "I can make one!", later that day we were cutting up bike frames and oxy acetelene torch and coat hanger for welding rod we put together the home made one that I still ride to this day!!. It`s been through a lot and undergone some changes (ie 2 speed kickback rear hub) it`s not pretty to look at, but a blast to ride. I moved to El Cajon ca. in the 1980s and in 1988 I found a real swing bike frame for$20 and proceeded to fix it up. I put an atom 5 speed drum brake hub off of a schwinn cruiser, 26in schwinn frnt forks and a 12in scooter front wheel, it made the bike quick and fast and I could ride wheelies for blocks. However I left it unattended in front of a friends apt. for about 10 mins. only to find it gone when I came out, I was devistated, it was my daily transportation but frame #000464 was stolen from me in 1989. I hope someday to recover it, but I moved back to wa. I love your web page, and keep on swingin!!!

Description: Found this one at a bike collectors shop in Mesa, he claims to have Marie Osmonds old bike (which has a 20" front wheel, anyone know if on like this was originally produced?), bike is in fair condition, still has front fender and chain guard, decal is in poor shape (as are most, sure wish someone would repro these), paint is fair, badge is excellent. Does anyone know what year these bikes were produced and whether the rear tire was a true slick or a wide tread. We have another one that is incomplete, the most needed part is the lock, does anyone have any information on where to get one or how to make one (the chrome knob looks a lot like a toilet shut of valve...hmmmm maybe home depot can help???) Great site!! Please send me any info you can about the bikes, thank you!!!
