Members must be in good standing to enter students and must have paid their 2008-2009 dues before applications will be accepted.

Number of Entries:

One or two, solo or ensemble. (The teacher of at least one member of an ensemble must be an AMTL member.) A teacher may enter either one or two soloists, one or two ensembles, or one soloist and one ensemble. For AMTL members, a Third Entry may be accepted if time allows. Material:

Although this is a special event, one for which there is no audition, we must maintain high standards. All solo music must be memorized. (Music may be used for chamber ensembles, piano duets, and piano accompanists.) Photo copies of music are not allowed (unless the music is permanently out of print). NO ABRIDGED OR SIMPLIFIED ARRANGEMENTS will be accepted for all instrumentalists and singers. No concerto repertoire is allowed.

Pianists:

Only standard repertoire originally written for the piano will be accepted (except for ensembles). Minimum playing level: Easy Bach or Mozart Minuets.

Singers:

Repertoire must include at least one piece displaying classical vocal technique, style and repertoire. Minimum level - folk song arrangements. If timing permits a 2nd piece, an option is a "non-belt" Musical Theater piece.

Performance Time:

Players will be accepted until the total performance time reaches 60 minutes for each concert. In order to make the performance levels as varied as possible, the following MAXIMUM time limits per player will apply for each level:

1. Early Level 3 Minutes
2. Intermediate Level 4 Minutes
3. Advanced Level 6 Minutes

No more than two pieces may be performed by one player regardless of their brevity. All teachers and students are responsible to include the EXACT TIMING of EACH PIECE in the application. Any player exceeding his or her time limit will be excluded from entering in future AMTL events in the 2008-2009 season. The teacher will also be disqualified from entering students in AMTL events in the 2008-2009 season.

Accompanists:

Instrumentalists and singers must arrange for their own accompanists. Please include the accompanist’s name on the application so that it will be included in the printed program.

Application Fee:

Instructors who are not AMTL members must pay an additional $15. fee in the form of a separate personal check (not a student expense) per entry.

AMTL members fees:

$20.00 per solo entry, $30.00 per ensemble, refundable if application is received after the concerts have been filled. For AMTL members, a Third Entry may be accepted if time allows.
