*Jasmine*
We pulled up in the car park at the reserve. I was shaking with shock and anger. I knew that if I saw her again, we'd have another little "episode" like last time. I wasn't usually a violent person but everyone changed in front of Leslie. Including Christian. I looked at him.
"Why are you so moody?" I finally spoke up. He glared at me.
"I am not."
Mark snorted and Christian's gaze shot round to him.
"Right." I said, totally contradicting what I'd just said.
"Why don't you just leave me alone?!"
All four of us looked at him, shocked. I felt tears coming to my eyes. Christian never raised his voice at me. The other three knew that, too. He sighed, slamming his hands down on the steering wheel.
"I'm going for a walk."
He opened the door to the car and slammed it upon exiting. My lip quivered and Paul took a glance at Mark. Mark wrapped his arms around me.
"You go see what's up with Chris," He ordered Paul. "I'll stay here and look after Jasmine. Ben?"
Ben looked to him. Mark handed him my phone.
"You go outside and find some better signal."
Ben nodded and left with Paul and Mark looked back to me.
"Look, everyone's been under pressure and acting wierdly lately. Even myself..."
That's when I leaned over and kissed him.
*Julie*
Leslie stood in front of me. She seemed huge, and I could see the overwhelming sense of power flashing in her eyes.
"Soon, my dear, you two will be history."
She giggled evilly. She waved the phone in front of my face, taunting me.
"You conniving little bitch!"
She waggled a finger in my face joyfully.
"Now, now, no need to get nasty. You'll be wanting her dead once I tell you what I have to."
"There's no way I'd want Jas dead! She's one of my best friends." Curosity finally got the better of me. "What do you mean by that?"
"I've seen the way she's been looking at Mark."
"You're lying! She loves Chris! She'd never do something like that!"
"On the contrary. Have you noticed how he's been acting...distant around her lately?"
I couldn't deny that fact and I felt my fear for Mark growing with every second. What if it was true...no, Leslie's just trying to scare me, right?
"She'd never do something like that!" I scoffed, trying to get my mind off my thoughts. Leslie merely tapped the phone's aerial against her pouted bottom lip.
"We'll see." She smiled cattily.
*Mark*
I froze rigid in shock. One minute I was talking, the next her lips were on mine. I know I shouldn't have but I kind of enjoyed it. She was more hard, more passionate, then the sweet gentle touch of Julie. I felt a twinge of guilt then pulled back. Jasmine looked at me with hurt in her eyes.
"We can't." I gasped.
"Why not?"
"You've got Chris. I've got my Julie."
Jasmine burst into tears and I sat there, awkward, wanting to put my arms around her and kiss away the tears but knowing such a move could be lethal.
"I love Chris. I really do. But I also still have feelings for you. I haven't got over the fact that we're not going out anymore. I never had."
"Neither had I." Mark whispered quietly. "But what's in the past is in the past."
Jasmine threw open the door and ran, crying. I cradled my head in my hands.
"Shit." I said solemnly. I didn't follow her.
*Christian*
I looked over my shoulder at the sound of sobbing and saw Jasmine ran past.
"Jas...wait..."
I grabbed her shoulder but she merely twisted and kept on running, crying. My heart flipped. What had happened? I headed back to the car, no idea where Jasmine had gone to by now, and saw Mark's face flickering with sorrow. I looked back over my shoulder once more in the direction Jasmine took.
"What happened?"
"Believe me, mate, you don't want to know."
I was about to say something when Ben spoke up.
"The phone's ringing!"
*Leslie*
I looked at Julie smugly with an innocent girly grin on my attractive features. Soon they would both be gone. The gun lay neatly out of sight in a drawer. That's my weapon. Then I would have Christian back with no fear of competition. I waited silently as the phone rang.
