*As I look into your eyes
I see an angel in disguise*
As that verse ran through my mind, I felt my heart being wrenched in two. I had just been dumped by my boyfriend for another girl, and what made it worse, was the other girl was my best friend and she knew how much I'd loved Shane. I closed my eyes, a single tear rolling and carefully unfolding like a rose. I quickened my pace, trying to out-walk my thoughts and memories.
Suddenly I bumped into someone, who steadied me. I opened my eyes, stained slightly red with tears and I started to sob afresh. My eyes were blurred from them so much I could barely see.
Great, just great, I thought.
The person supporting me shifted and brought me back to earth with a thump. As my mind dashed, I tried to remember what I would have said if I were writing one of my stories. Surreal? If my mind hadn't of been muddled, I could have sworn that the blonde guy right in front of me was Christian Ingebrigtsen. But then again, I didn't know what to believe anymore.
"Oops, clumsy." I said.
"No you're not."
"Thank you. I guess I needed someone to help me at some stage. No one else can."
"You've had a tough life?"
"Very."
He smiled. He seemed to understand my situation at the moment and I was glad. It helped that I didn't have to lie about my current state.
"Would you like me to get you a taxi?"
I nodded, too weak to argue. Normally I would have refused but I had had enough for one day. I just wanted to go home.
As the taxi pulled up, the guy helped me into it. I leaned against him heavily. By now it had started to drizzle. As the taxi pulled out onto the road, I looked out the back window, squinting out through the rain that half obscured my view. Try as I might, all I saw was nothing. My rescuer had gone.
The next morning I felt refreshed as I thought of what had happened yesterday. That guy had shown me that someone had cared about me, that my whole life wasn't all just lies and deception. My brother was awake and watching T.V. I glanced at him, then went to turn away. But the broadcaster's announcement reached my ears.
"Now for something to warm your hearts, Christian from the pop band, a1, has decided to play the Good Samaritan..."
A picture appeared on the screen of Christian with another person. My brother looked in shock. After all, that person Christian was holding looked familiar. VERY familiar. My brother confirmed my thoughts.
"Look, Jasmine! You're on T.V!"
